OK this is meant for Sr. Members but anyone may participate. I also fully understand if anyone doesn't wish to participate.

But, who are you? Why are you here? What do you bring to and what do you take from the forum?

I'm not looking for name, address and phone number but a little bit more than username, member status and IP number would be nice.

For those who don't know me, DO A SEARCH DAMMIT! Just kidding, I'm a guy with a decent gun collection who "used" to have a government job. Currently looking for "interesting" work.

I come here for lots of reasons. But mostly because it is a scaled down model of how the world should be. Free and accountable with a fair amount of honor and integrity thrown in.

I try to bring a sense of humor and character so as to prevent the forum from becoming as cold and clinical as every other board.

I take a wealth of knowledge about firearms, updates on political situations and a reasonable perspective on a variety of events.

It is interesting to me that the MOST HEAVILY ARMED people(ie. the members here), get along so well. If you think about it, despite dissagreements, you would probably take your LEAST favorite member to the range and have a good day. If only the rest of the world worked as well and was governed as responsibly.

So what's your story?

I am Lew Tippie, and I am AR15.COM.
I teach NRA/CMP highpower, to anyone that will sit still long enough to learn.
I was a "professional" shooter for a long time....Blessed with my talent. I was with the USMC & USAMU Shooting teams.
Now, I try to give back what I was given.

In order to support my shooting I build cellular communication towers.

My honor to Mod the Competition Board.

I'm an engineer working in the fiber optic applications in telecom. How's that??

I collect and shoot all manner of firearms (that I can afford) and prefer AR15's partly on their own merits and partly due to the fact that my dad was involved with the birth of that fine rifle.

I've been on and off AR15.com since the mailing list days and find it invaluable.
Plus this place is just plain fun sometimes!!!

Un-employed bond trader from CA lured to TX by an investment firm under false pretense. I read mostly in other forums to gain knowledge. However, I offer my wackiness and offbeat personality here on the GD forum. I believe I am well known for posting questionable(porn) pics in the past. Most recently the postings of my dinner pics. I also bring to the table my knowledge in investing and some knowledge of Glock pistols,..HAIL GASTON GLOCK!!!...

Mainly, I'm a goofball.

Lately I seem to have the Imbroglio luck of womenz, cause I can't seem to find one that would even give me the time of day here in TX. I miss women in CA. I miss getting laid.

WE, THE PEOPLE...
are AR15.com!

I found this site when I first got online searching for all knowledge and answers to questions I'd always wanted to ask.

Not until recently did I get in on the action here. I decided to spend some money and get some equipment to learn more and get involved in the sport more.
It's a lot more than that, though.

I spend more time on this site than any other.
Tried not to "bring" anything in the way of knowledge. I was very enthusiastic and attempted to add a bit of laughter to the posts.

I quickly got some real money saver tips from the Forum.  Literally, I would have made a serious mistake and the guys here saved me the trouble of learning an expensive lesson due to my ignorance of the subject in my overexhuberance.  Humbling.

It's an adventure everyday (read---addictive).  Mentally stimulating; thought provoking; emotionally upsetting at times; and always rewarding.
In other words, the good life.

When given the chance to meet with some of the "Personas" on the Forum, it's nice to know the faces with the names of new friends.  That has been my best experience at AR15.com so far.

WE, THE PEOPLE.  WE'RE "O-TAY!"

I’m Don Black, an over the hill shooter who got into the highpower game WAY too late in life to ever be any good at it, but I’ll bet I still have as much fun at it as any of you young’uns.
I hope that somewhere along the way my enthusiasim (for highpower) has rubbed off on a few others. If not, it wouldn’t be for lack of effort.
The best people in the world are to be found in the shooting world. Wonder why we are the only ones who know that?

I'm Clay and I work for the government. (Don't worry, we're here to help)

I was on the AR15 email list with Forest, Chuck, and everybody else for a long time. I guess it was for about two years before they went down. I eventually found the forums back up again on the site, so here I am.

I own an M4 (shoulda figured by the name), a sniper setup AR, and a NM AR. Used to have a Gov't 20" setup and a 16" CAR but have since sold them.

I have started shooting competition and reloading thanks in part to the folks on the list and these forums.

I try to share any experience I can on this list and learn what I can from others. If anyone is in Arkansas some time write me an email and maybe we can go shooting. We need more Arkansas shooters here is my only gripe. [:D]

Me?  I'm a recent (May 2001) college graduate.  I'm here because I love the AR-15 in terms of versatility and usefulness.  I am also here because of the knowledge of the members, my own knowledge AND lack of knowledge, and because I like to keep gun grabbers pissed off.

I believe that one of the biggers dangers to firearm ownership is lack of knowledge.  I don't just mean political knowledge and "know thy enemy;" I'm refering to actual gun knowledge.

The folks who know the most about firearms, namely armorers, folks who are lucky enough to own an instruction manual for their long-banned fourth-plus hand gun, and select gunsmiths are disappearing.  Magazines that are primary sources, such as Machinegun News, Firepower, and others are becoming scarce.

I realized that many folks really take chances and guesses just to attempt to field-strip their firearms for cleaning purposes.  The knowledge of how to fix, repair, clean, and properly shoot firearms is becoming lost.

I'm here to gain knowledge from others that isn't "common knowledge" any more.  I'm also here to share what I've learned thus far.  Admittedly, I'm not where I want to be.  But, I'm working on it.

Hey, I'm early on this one.
I dont consider myself a senior member, but the board seems to.
I see myself as Joe Average gun collector, I haul cars for a living so I dont get here everyday.
My gun collection is no longer as large as it used to be. Sold many off to build a 55 Bel-Air, but it's almost done.
I like all types of firearms, but am leaning more towards the military rifle and pistol collectables, both modern and historic. M-1 Garands really get me going, FAL's are new and interesting to me, AR-15's are tried and true,
I come here because everyone here seems to be in the same situation as myself. I can relate to most of you guys and girls, and I like the sense of humor that goes on here, I have to agree with SteyrAUG in that this is about the only board that isnt to serious about life itself. a little sense of humor goes a long way. Dont get me wrong I visit the other boards also but sometimes its hard to be so serious all the time.
A lot of people come here so you can always get alot of different opinions in a short amount of time
I cant really tell you what I bring to the board but I like to think I'm not an unwanted, over opinionated S.O.B. but I will vioce my opinion if the subject is in my area of interest.
Well thats about it for me, There's more ofcourse, but now is not the time for the life history

To my AR-15.compadres -

I am EricTheHun, Esq., a forty-nine year old solo practitioner, specializing in bankruptcy and real estate law in North Dallas.

I am married to the lovely and gracious Miz Hun, who is employed by Freddie Mac, and we live with our tri-color Beagle named Scooter.

I have one daughter, Lorelei, who has graced me with a beautiful granddaughter named Kristin Michaela, who is four years old and the apple of her Granddaddy's eye. Lorelei's husband is Steve, who is basically a carbon copy of me -
a Civil War Reenactor who desparately wants another chance to 'do Gettysburg right this time', has a closet full of AWs and camouflage
militaria, and worships at the Kristin Shrine along with me.

I have a family farm in West Texas that has been in my family since 1885.  My father was born on that farm, my grandmother was born on that farm, and I go there every chance I get!

Miz Hun, however, refers to it as the 'jumping off place.'[:D]

I'm here to acquire wisdom and to share whatever wisdom I may have acquired elsewhere, on manners, morals and militaria.  Hehehe.

This site is my little gun show away from the gun shows.

My name is Steve. I am 42 years old. I have a wonderful wife, two beautiful children, two dumb dogs and a mortgage. I am a Firefighter/Paramedic in a moderate sized fire department in the east San Francisco bay area.

I have a safe full of various types of rifles, shotguns and pistols, with an emphasis on military style weapons. I am a CRPA and NRA member. I am considered to be conservative around this part of the world (California), but many of you would probably label me as mildly liberal.

I had been lurking here for a while before joining up. I bring no specialized knowledge, unless you need me to put out a fire or keep you alive.

I find this site to be the most informative and valuable firearms resource on the internet. Also, pretty dang entertaining.

Hello, my name is Michael and I am an arcoholic. I found this place about 4 years ago and have been here ever since. I lurked for quite some time picking up bits of info anywhere I could. I think of myself as pretty knowledgable about about the AR series rifle and now I try to instill my knowledge that I have learned here to people that are just finding out about the little slice of heaven called an AR.

For some of you who have seen some of my posts you will also know that I am also pretty outspoken regarding what I believe in and I never shy away from an arguement when I know Im right. However, should I ever turn out to be wrong I will be the first to admit it. [moon]

Now I have turned my firearm collecting ways to the NFA world and its looking to be more of a money pit than AR collecting could ever be. But hell, you only live once.

In short, I am ar15.com. Goatboy is my President!

Michael

I have a modest(but effective) array of weapons and shoot, hunt, fish, off road, golf and shoot some more as often as possible.

Hell, I came here for the free beer!
BTW: when is the truck going to pull up? I'm getting thirsty.

My name is Greg Pena III - Not hiding anything here. I came to AR15.com after I found this site shortly after buying into one of greatest weapons platform anywhere.
I have learned a wealth of info from this site and for that I thank all who had their input.

Personally I don't know what I bring to the forum that is much help other lending a hand. But many hands make light work. So like it has been said before "WE THE PEOPLE ARE AR15.COM"

I know I take more than I give but one day I hope to give it back ten fold.

I work for a Pathology Lab and get to hang out in the autopsy and tissue room a lot. I get to be the one to burn amputations and everything else we gross out. Not a fun job but it does pay the bills. I have been called "The Cleaner" from time to time. But I have never burned anyone that didn't deserve it![;)]

To any LEOS who just wrote my name down I was just kidding!

I am single and no kids. But working on it just got back from a date about an hour ago! My first in about 4 months. She was not too bad, I will ask her out again.
Down side: she is not wild about guns! But I talked her into trying out some with me. I think she is just "gun shy".

Other than that it is just work and home for me. Boring life. But AR15.com keeps it interesting.

Later, GP3

I am Ex-Active Army, currently in the WA Guard and working full time in a casino. I started here while trying to figure out what in the hell is legal and illegal for building an AR.

I come to find the answers to all of my AR related questions, and hopefully answer some from new persons that I am capable of answering. I also enjoy the atmosphere. This has got to be the closest thing I have found to the military in so far as the broad range of attitudes and personalities. Not a single log on goes by without me being amazed by the insight, sense of humor, and creativity of the members of this forum. Athough I have never met any of you, there are some I feel like I know.

Well, My name is kevin. I'm a 26 year old married no kids guy from mich.I found this site while I was looking for a group of people that thought like me. I have been getting more scared by the day at what this country has been turning into and was looking for ways that I could actually DO something and I needed some guidance. I bring what I hope is a sense of humor and humility into an area that I don't know near enough about and I'm trying to learn. This site and its members (like you styre)have helped me to change my wife's views on life and "those scary evil black guns" that is now one of her favorite toys to play with. I think the reason I've stayed is I found a group of (sometimes educated)normal people that I can relate to that are as afraid of people that want to take away my guns as i am....That and some of the funny ass, side splitting, rotflmao threds that i find here.

I am Landon and I am From St. Augustine FL.

I like to play with 3 websites
www.McUZI.com
www.sigtalk.com
and here on AR15.com...

I am learning a lot about Highpower shooting...
But I don't want to shoot DCM really. Probably more like unlimited class. I also want to get in the one mile club...so I am saving for a .50.

I shoot IDPA, and IPSC limited whenever I get the chance, and I am pretty bad-ass at it. On a good day, I win, on a bad day, I still whup most.

I will be returning back to school soon to learn Networking, and programming, so that will be happening soon.
My favorite guns are my Glock 20, DW .357 Snub, and my AR on a CAV lower. My New Haven CT. High-Standard HD Millitary just took a crap today (Guide spring plug went out, and the whole assembly went shooting off into the wild blue yonder...) so I am bummed about that.

Also, something most of you don't know is that the "McUZI" name was shared between me and my room-mate until very, very recently.
I did most of the telling of my life stories, he was responsible for the boring stuff. It was pretty fun sharing the name, but he got sick recently, and moved out of the casa. So I took over the reigns of being "McUZI". [:)]

Also, I want to better my practical shooting with my compacts...I like to practice with my full-sizers, but it seems I only carry my compacts, so i need to bolster my profiency with them.

Past Screen Names have Included

McUZI
_McUZI
Em/CeeUZI
Mc_UZI
IZUcM
EdAvilaSr
BigChiefCrappingCattle
o0o
BlackJesus
BillClinton
McPaul

and i'm sure some others I have forgotten about. [:)]
Anyway, i'm done.

Sincerely, your friend

My name's Mike.  I'm a 50 year (almost) old divorcee with two children, and I live in Ohio.  I served in the USAF in the early 70's. I have a modest gun collection which has stemmed from like many others here the fact that the government doesn't seem to want me to have what the Constitution guarantees me.

I spend more time at this forum than most other places on the web.  I enjoy much of the engaging posts here.  I try to share what I have learned in life and absorb facts and information that other's have to share.

My posts usually lean towards the humors side of the spectrum, occasionally I post seriously.  I tend to be a nice guy except when pushed too far.  I respect people of differing opinions and I expect the same from them.

I work as a printer, I know I haven't lived my life to it's full potential, but the life I live has been my choice and I have no regrets.

A 30+ year old Student.  I quit work after 9 years to go back to school.  Once I am done, I hope to put Steyr's collection of guns to shame (not even gonna try on the record or porn collections though--he has too much of a head start).  I spend WAY too much money on guns--as soon as I get a little money I buy a gun.  Then I don't have much money for a few months, and I get some more (mostly by working too many hours at my part time job).

I am here basically to relax--just read the posts, reply to some, and ask a few questions of people who know more than I do.

My Optical equipment measures to One Half of a second of an Angle(60 seconds= 1 moa) at any given distance.
(1 second of Arc in 1 foot of distance = 0.000004141' or 0.0012'at 300' X 60= 1moa or 0.0745' at 100yds)
My IR Laser EDM Dist. measures from 3 ft to well over a mile, to within 1\8 inch accuracy.
Then My AutoCAD equiped computers allow me to Draw the maps and contour grids of the areas I am working. Real Time.

I am honored to be a member of the group.
I come here for the wealth of info.
AR15.com is a valuable resource.
If there's something that I NEED to know,
Or something happening somewhere,
I come here. Because y'all are usually talking about it already.

Thanks to GoatBoy for all his hard work
in putting together this new site.
It is appreciated.

My name is Victor, and I'm a Sailor.

I come here whenever I have the freetime, and looking for a couple laughs. Also, whenever I think of something I want to do(gun realated), and need some verification or information about it.

Heh... McUzi... The IWO JIMA just pulled in, and were looking for your ass!!!
