I have guns, I don't do golf.

For the dudes:
Champlain Fighter Aircraft Museum in Tempe.

For the Womenz:
Heard Museum (American Indian Arts and Crafts)
It's on the PC side, but is still pretty interesting.

Look into doing one of the Sonoran Desert Jeep trips if you have time.

There used to be a tremendous steak house on the main road north of Scottsdale where you pick your own steak off a slab and they cook it right in front of you. Just don't wear a neck tie there. The waitresses carry scissors and will cut it off and tack it to the beams!

Any of the locals know if it's still there, and what the name is?

Are you thinking of Pinnacle Peaks?  They have a great view of the city from their patio too.  Haven't been up there in a while, the one here in Tucson is pretty good and they still cut your tie off.

I'm trying to get my brother to fly in for thanksgiving.   It would be most excellent if we could put together a shoot.

The location of the first phoenix shoot(that I attended) off of Table Mesa Road will hold plenty of people!  Anyone know if that is still available?, or did it fall like Tonto National Forest land?  Anyone else interested?

The fighter Museum is pretty cool, though it is in Mesa.

The Champlain Fighter Aircraft Museum is great. Take US60 East from Phoenix about 10-15 miles to Greenfield Rd. and go North a couple of miles.  They build the AH-64D Apache Longbows next door. There's also a new golf course that opened up there too called...what else?...Longbow.

November's a great weather time for Phoenix.  And there's some good golf...but it isn't cheap golf.  The Las Sendas golf course (NorthEast of Longbow) is something like $130 a round during the peak season!  Las Sendas does have a beautiful view though.

If you haven't been to the Grand Canyon, I'd say it's at least a one time must-see.

Pinnacle Peak does have good steak.  I took an old tie, just to get it chopped off.  Joe's Real BBQ in Gilbert is also really good. (about 8 miles South and 2 miles Weast of Longbow)

If your a plane nut like I am, the Champlain fighter museum is great.  They're talking about moving it to the NW some where so I'd go while you have the chance.  Further south, I would highly recommend the Pima Air Museum, it is one of the best in the country and is in Tuscon.  Also in the  Tucson area is the Kartchner(sp?) Caverns, they are incredible to see themselves and the efforts they put into preserving them.  To the north is the Grand Canyon which I highly recommend taking the train from Williams, AZ.  The train is an old timer and your escorted by the local sheriff to keep the bandits away.  Of course they rob the train on the way back and it's a great deal of fun.  There's also the Lowell observatory in Flagstaff and you can stop at Sedona and experience some of the local colour(literally and figuratively), there's some interesting folks in Sedona!

Just a few of the places that I've visited in AZ.

The best mexican food in town is Garcias Los Avinas, just south of 35th Ave and Thomas Rd.
