My computer usually runs at 24 degrees celcius (it has a thermostat digital read-out) and here's my problem:

Anytime I play a game, such as Battlefield 2, Battlefield 2142, Project Reality (BF2 Mod) or any other game like that, everything will freeze at various points in the game, and then the monitor will go black, the sound will stutter, and I always have to shut the computer off and restart.

It use to do this every once in awhile, but now it's a constant thing. I can't even play 10 minutes into games without the fucker crashing on me.

My motherboard is an MSI KT4VL
Video card is an ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 256MB
I have 1 gig of ram
About 60 gigs of free space on harddrive
Processor is an AMD Athlon XP 3000+ (2.17)

My laptop can run these games better than my desktop can, and my laptop won't fucking freeze either. So, what's the deal? The computer is pretty old, but c'mon... It's not ancient.
