I overheard two people yesterday talking about how they check the state sex offender database and cross reference their zip code.  It comes up with an address list and photo of all the convicted sex offenders in your area.

Guess what I have on my very own street?  A child molester.

I have a 2 year old boy that I now have to watch even closer than I had previously.  I can't believe this oxygen-thief is living near me.  Fortunately, I'm moving out of state in August.

Damn.

You have to really take a look at their offense before you judge. If you were ever caught in public peeing, you're a sex offender. If you ever streaked in public as a goof, you're a sex offender. If you ever got caught with you honey in a parked car bumping uglies, you're a sex offender. If you ever mooned someone in public and get caught, you're a sex offender. If you get convicted for any of these crimes you must report you whereabouts.

If you have a 2 year old & a sex offender, you really don't have much of a choice and you have a responsibility.

Getting rid of the body would be the hardest part of the job I think.

I know what you mean bro. I looked up the perv list for my zip and there is one living about 300 yds from me. Back before I knew about it, I even invited this creep to do an estimate on roofing my house. He never showed and for that I am grateful.

Lordtrader, you're exactly correct.  I would hate to have my neighborhood rise up against me, because I mooned someone back when I was 18.  Check into it further, and see if you can find out exactly what he did.  (BTW..I'm not on the list, just giving an opinion)

I think there may be an issue here bigger than mooning somebody.

If you do a search on the company I work for very little comes up...... except a link to the Md sex offenders list, because we have a little child molester right here at work. He molested another employee's two daughters, then about 8 and 10 years old I believe. Sick f*ck, I don't know how my co-worker, who's daughters he molested has kept from killing him all these years.

But the biggest problem with these blockheads is that they move and don't update their info. So, while it may say there is some guy living next door who raped a bus of school kids, that doesn't mean he still lives there.

In most states, it's a criminal offense to NOT register/update your information if you're on the list. But, then again, when have criminals ever payed attention to the rules?

I am in the midst of a real life scenario. My GF has a son who is Autistic. He was molested by his teacher's aide/friend. This man would frequently take her son, as well as other boys from the same class of special needs children, out on private field trips and similar activities. Like any parents, we were crushed when he told us what happened. Wheels were set in motion and the perpetrator is now in the custody of Maricopa County. We are going to a hearing this morning. He has wealthy parents who are trying to get him released on bail. As it is, my GF and her other child have been sleepless for months. They are barely able to manage now, with him in custody. I hate to think about what will happen if he is granted bail. I want the sick bas**** put in general population of a high risk prison. Let the other inmates seal his fate.

Out of curiosity, I did a search of my zip code. Wouldn't you know, there's one living in the apartment complex right across the street from me, reported for "LEWD,LASCIVIOUS CHILD U/16" late last year. And he's less then 500 feet from a K-12 school too.  Ain't that something.

Not in Texas. Registered Sex Offenders in Texas are going to be folks who got convicted of (and usually more than one count):
-Sexual Assualt;
-Aggravated Sexual Assault (used a weapon, caused serious bodily injury or assaulted a child);
-Indecency With a Child (sexual activity with a child that doesn't quite equal a Sexual Assault);
-Posession of Child Pornography.

Those are the only people who count as sex offenders in Texas. The 17-year old who got tagged once for sleeping with a thirteen year old probably won't be required to register. The 25 year-old who did it several times will.

At the very least, I'm pleased that you are now aware of someone that should be watched closely.  Kinda odd how you can find out how close a predator may actually be to you.

Even if you DON'T know there is a known pedophile in your area, you must NEVER let a small child out of your sight.

Only about 2 miles from my home in a decent neighborhood in San Diego, a 2-year-old boy was apparently abducted two days ago when his IDIOT stepfather walked away from him for a minute or two to get a soda.

It freaked me out this morning when a girl of about 6 and her younger brother came to my door asking if they could have the basketball hoop off of my roof.  I couldn't believe their mother would let them walk away from their house unattended.

(I took down the hoop and gave it to their mom 'cause I'm such a nice guy, but their mom is an IDIOT too.)

Even in my small town of 25,000 folks, there are at least 2 or 3 new offenders who have moved to town in the paper every Sunday morning.

No way to get away from them.

Sex offenders, especially those who commit crimes against children, should have it tattooed across their forehead, and be wearing their balls as ear rings. even in prison they are marked for death. which might not be such a bad penalty either.

They are now making Registered Sex Offenders in our area do several things, in addition to everything else:
1) Put warning signs in the windows of their residence;
2) Pay for an ad in the newspaper announcing that they are a sex offender and they have moved to the area;
3) Send letters to everyone on their block telling them that they moved in and where they live;
4) Put bumper stickers on their cars.

One sex offender recently moved here from out of state, and when told what he had to do to comply with registration, he told our Registration Officer that he wasn't going to do it. The Officer told him "Then I'm send your *** back to prison." (failing to comply with registration requirements is a felony, and our judges always go for the max sentence on that one). The sex offender moved back to his original state within the week.

Now when do the databases that whow the drug dealers, gang bangers, DUIs, murders, rapists, burglars, and cartheivs come out.  I would consider them a much higher threat.

You should be watching your 2 year old anyhow. Hopefully you will at least teach your kids how to cross the street safely (meny seem to lack that basic knowledge), to not accept candy from strangers and you don't ride with strangers.

You should have your guard up at all times anyhow, so why are you surprised.  You apparently have fallen into the trap that it's supposed to be safe out there. Why?  You hopefully know better

The problem with this child molester is that he looks like an everyday guy.  I can usually pick out the gang-bangers and such without requiring a lot of assistance.

Not in my book.  Once you harm a child - You're a POS for life.  The fact that they are let back out on the street is a travesty.
