It's got most of state in an uproar. Read the article. Then post your opinion. This was in yesterday's (January 5th '06) Burlington Free Press.

I am personally ashamed to live in this state.

That judge is worthless.

I hope he finds early retirement and wants to find time with his family.

Hey a doctor in western NY molested his daughter's friend for 3 years. Judge really threw the book at him. He got 10 years probation.

"Judge Edward Cashman's sentence, which he handed down after a two-hour hearing in Vermont District Court in Burlington, could incarcerate Hulett for the rest of his life if he fails to obtain counseling or otherwise follow instructions once he is freed in 60 days. "

Looks like they are going for trying treatment first. They are leaving the option open for reincarceration if he fails to get treatment. Since recidivism is so high for that type of offense, he probably WILL wind up again in prison at some time.
