GD,

I am calling for your help. As you probably know VT is under assault. The state house just passed a bill with a high cap mag ban among other things. It has to go back to the senate which already passed a version of the bill without the mag ban.

We need a couple senators to flip their vote now that the mag ban has been added to stop at least the mag ban portion of the bill.

Here are some of the senators that could be emailed and swayed to change their vote.  Please email them and tell them that you aren't in support of the mag ban added to S.55. Vt people please add more emails that you think could flip. I looked for Dems in rural districts whose constituents wouldn't support this ban. The progressive/socialists of Chittenden county are too far gone.

Would I be better of telling them I'm a prospective resident that won't move in now, or should I tell them I'm from VT?

Thank You! Hopefully we can salvage something out of this. Having our "republican" governor flip on our gun rights overnight and ask for bills to sign is completely disheartening. We need to stop the hicap ban before it gets to his desk.

I don't know if it matters but I wouldn't lie. I emailed them all even though they aren't my exact senators, stating my opinion against the mag ban.

I just sent generic e-mails asking them not to vote for any gun/mag restrictions.

Not sure if they would try and figure out who lives there or not.Big thing is to send them a shit ton of e-mails.

Hopefully the VT Senate have some that respect the Constitution.

Very few elected officials here in the People's Republic even respect, honor or defend the Constitution.

Thanks everyone. Seeing now that it is going to committee instead of full senate vote. Also seeing that the governor is behind the mag ban and will sign with it included

Trying to figure out if we need to email others on the committee.

The 3rd vote will be the final one.  I think they'll talk about more amendments before the vote but nothing exciting.  After that it's in the Senate's hands for a little bit before it goes to the big fudd.

I went ahead and emailed each person in the list.

Here's a copy of what I sent:

Hello,

Please consider voting no to S.55 that restricts magazine capacity. The shooter in Florida used 10 rounds capacity magazines to carry out the attack and this bill is in response to that. Since the magazine capacity had nothing to do with the crimes committed, passing such a restriction will do nothing to help VT citizens.

As a NH resident, avid skier, and frequent visitor to VT, I am strongly opposed to the magazine capacity ban that is proposed. VT is currently on my short list of states to live in my upcoming retirement. If this ban passes, I will spend my money elsewhere.

Emails sent to all.

Senator,
Please vote no to S.55 that restricts magazine capacity or, at the very least move to remove the magazine restrictions from the bill.
It is a serious thing to conciser restricting the civil rights of so many law abiding citizens and potentially making criminals of many of them with the stroke of a pen. This bill is a solution to a problem that doesn't exist in Vermont. Please stand up for the rights of Vermont's historically law abiding citizens!

Thank you,

Keep up the fight!

It applies to all magazines and belted ammo except for tube magazines if they're for .22 rimfire.  So a Marlin 60 would be ok.
My rep asked if he could pass down his antique henry rifle that's been in his family forever to his grandson.  The answer was no.

Do we have the text of the bill, as it relates to belted ammunition?  A buddy of mine who lives in VT asked for it
