Just saw it, on my phone and can't get the shit to link.

Google is your friend. Some of you phone geeks check it out and see if it's a good deal or bullshit.

I have an original unlimited plan but am looking for a better price point.

Guess they ran out of customers to screw over so they have to start all over again.

"There was a catch, however: Verizon added that after 22 GB of data usage on any one line, the company might "prioritize usage behind other customers in the event of network congestion." Verizon added that it would maintain its existing data plans for those who didn't want unlimited data. "

ETA: Also looks like they will require auto pay..

I'm still on unlimited but would love it cheaper but I doubt Verizon would actually make it cheaper they will always find a way for an ever rising phone bill.

Pay $70 a month for 10gb and unlimited call/txt. Works well enough for me.

Virtually every carrier has that caveat.

After dealing with them for 10 years this was my first thought. They are the biggest assholes in the telecom business.

Verizon has no clue how to hang on to old customers and they don't care when you leave.

It's just like back in the day when big Ma Bell got broken down into a phone company
with AT&T becoming the long distance carrier. They both slowly jacked up their rates
because they could and didn't think other carriers would pop up so fast.

I dropped them after having them for over 12 years and had unlimited. Never went crazy
with the youtube videos and didn't tether it either but the bill went from $70 to $90 then $140.

Straight Talk has a $45 dollar 5 gig and a $55 dollar 10 Gig plan with no contract and
you can buy a really nice smartphone for under $140 bucks and they even use
the Verizon network. When you use up the 5 or 10 gig they just slow it down to 2 gig
so ST is unlimited but slower after your limit is used.

I'm pretty sure if Verizion is bringing back the unlimited data plan they are going to
throttle it after so many gig and then jack you on a monthly fee for the phone itself.

Verizon is by far the worst communications company I have ever dealt with.
They are masters at nickel and dining you and have horrible customer service.
I hope competition kicks them square in the nuts.

The article linked says Verizon will start to throttle after 22GB. I think AT&T has the same policy with their unlimited plan.

Really? I need to re-evaluate my plan. I pay $100 with taxes and fees for 6GB and 450min.  The only reason I get 6GB is because I've been with them since 2008. Otherwise it would be 2GB for what I pay.

I always hit 90% data usage with about a week to go in my billing cycle.

I pay $92 month (with taxes,etc)unlimited text,minutes, and 16gb data.

I do get 19% off my bill from work though

This new plan would be sweet for me as i dont have internet service at my house other than Verizon hotspot

I'm doing something so wrong.
Verizon customer, 3 phones, I think I pay like $250 / mo and don't have unlimited data, only call and text.  It think I have like 18GB though.

AT&T is worse.  The cost is the same and you get worse signal. I tried to cancel and they said I have to pay until the end of the billing cycle. MFs.

143/month for 2 devices. Oh they threw in 20GB that I cannot use because I cannot get the !#$% signal.

Verizon is the only thing that punches through where I am.

They are because they can afford to be. The have the most towers, the best signal and think they can get away with it.

AT&T is just as bad and has worse connectivity.

Hmmm, might have to think about this.  Also I care more abt the signal than CS so meh... Sprint was horrid when I was on them.

No way.  I've had both AT&T and Verizon and ATT customer service is the worst I've ever seen from any company.  And Verizon has the only network that works well in my current AO.

With ATT you have to sign up for direct tv and they dont allow any tethering at all.  It also has the 22GB cap too.

It helps to have a good store with good employees near you. I went in with my lady on Black Friday she was looking for a new iPhone. They actually hooked her up, without her even asking. 10gb for her with no bump in charge, just the $10 line fee. I said can you do the same for me? And they did. Maybe cause its we are on single user plans. I'd suggest going in and just asking if theres a diff plan they can put u on.

Weren't they cancelling the people who had grandfathered plans a few weeks ago? Sounds like they just wanted to kick all the old people off so they could get them to sign up again at a higher rate.

I use the ST 5 gb plan. I bought the S5 that runs on verizon towers, and have been using it for several months. I am perfectly happy with it. But I will say, if you go over the 5 gb limit, your data becomes so slow, you might as well as not even bother to use it. Luckily my GF has unlimited data with a hotspot on her phone (we use 100-140 gb a month. Her phone is paired to 3-4 devices) so I rarely use over 4gb of data every month.

Ours was similar with 4 lines and 16gb till last week we hit the end of the 2 year period we signed up for when they gave us the "free" phones .... those dropped off so now rather than the $40 access per phone per month it's dropping To $20 per phone per month.
The thing is now that they make you pay the cost of the new phones off over the 2 year period so my new 6splus is costing me $22 a month but since I was the only one who really needed an upgrade our bill is still dropping by $60 every month

I just went to the store. I also have the unlimited plan with 450 minutes talk time along with 15%  veteran discount. I wound save $10-$15 over my current plan. Not sure to give up my current plan, but I'm contemplating it.

I been on unlimited data for 5-6 years now… Still under contract through 2018, at $138 for unlimited everything. I was excited to log onto my account and being offered this upgrade. I read it and both the small print; my bill would be $65 plus a line access fee $20 and $5 discount for auto-pay ($80+taxes). This is a healthy savings for reasonable, if any sacrifice from what I can tell. Sign me up!

Unfortunately, they pulled a fast one… My line access fee is $40 for me because I am under contract with a subsidized phone. So, I am basically being put into a device payment plan and paying full price for my previous promotion. I am annoyed because all the way up to the confirmation page, I was believed I would be paying $80 and not $100. It wouldn’t be as bad if they mentioned that in the promo or in the “more info” they made me read before viewing my account.

Calling them up for clarification was annoying… The confirmation never said why I had to pay $40 and is why I called. The rep said it was because I was under contract till 2018 and that I should be “happy”.
