It's about the same as the cable company service but usually a little faster in the menus. I don't know if it's a regional thing or full fios thing but there is no fox,fx on demand.

The only issue I've had is one of the boxes stopped working and they needed to send me a new one. It took 2 days to get here and they had a ups prepaid label to slap on the box to ship it back.

If you are paying for cable now it's worth getting it to save a couple bucks with the tv/internet bundles.

We have fios and it works great.  Uber snappy internet, flawless phone service, TV with no problems.  It's hands down the best service we've had and we've had Comcast and RCN to compare it to.

This is where I start with Verizon today at 7:30 a.m. PST.

No, I don't have actual experience with Verizon television.  Then again, I don't have reception at all.

I have DirecTV now but am considering dropping them and going with the Fios TV

What is the fee per extra DVR?

Are they HD out of the gate or is than an Extra fee?

Don't know about dvrs don't have one.

Hd service is free but where they get you is you need a hd set top box at $10 a month instead of $6 or $7 a month for the other box.

In the Seattle area DVR's are leased at something like $15 a month extra, don't know if you get a discount for multiples.

I have FiosTV and am very happy with it. It is a vast improvement over Comcast which I had before and is for a better price.

I have it.  It's no better than cable here.  It was when they first started offering it, but now that everyone and their mother has it, it seems to be no faster or better than cable.  The on demand performance is shit.

Many questions are answered at the FiOS site.

That said, they offer many HD channels in the basic package (at least in the DC Metro area). However, to get most of the favorite HD channels you'll need to buy an upgraded package. Extra DVR receivers are ~$13/mo.

I get the "HD Essentials" package, 25Mbps, and landline for ~$200/mo. This is less than I was paying previously for slower Internet, landline (without free long distance), and fewer HD channels (Dish).

Yes I looked at that but being a DirecTV customer now I'm a bit leary of all the "Hidden" extras

I've got it.  I'm not a huge fan of the DVR(especially the guide), but the service has been good.  I assume they will upgrade the DVR's eventually.

Understood, but I haven't had any such incidents with FiOS. The bills are about as clear as utility bills can get and all their pricing (excluding taxes and surcharges beyond their control) were disclosed to me up front.

Regarding the customer service perspective (I know this is going to be hard to believe as I had to read the letter twice myself), Verizon sent me a letter at one point letting me know there was a better package available for less money. I was skeptical. I researched it separately. I looked for trial periods followed by a 20% increase in cost. No, it was absolutely legitimate.

BTW, to the original question, like others have posted, my experience is the TV quality has been at least as good as Dish and local cable subscribing neighbors.

I've had FIOS for a little over four years.  In that time I've lost service once when a lightning strike severed the cable.  The picture quality is very good and overall I'm extremely happy with it.

They just pulled out of the Oregon market after a disappointing 6 month pilot.
YMMV

Sounds good

I recently found out all the equiptment I Paid For
is not mine with DirecTV I'm just leasing it

So Why Did I Have To Pay For It?

So it looks like Fios TV may be in my future

Its great.  I've had no issues.

Expect it to be a couple of months before they have your bill straight.  The credits, charges, and multiple service bills combining into one bill took them about 2 months to straighten out.

I'll be getting FIOS (tv/internet/phone)  at my new house in PA in about three weeks.  I have dish network now and have been very happy with them for 10 years.  But the FIOS package deal is too good to resist.

Hidden fees? Honestly I don't think they hide very much. They are pretty up front on the pricing schemes. Verizon was much easier to deal with when I purchased online and got a simple two year contract. No price increases. No intro deals. Just dead simple straight forward billing. It is actually refreshing I don't have to wade through any bullshit until my contract is up and even then I don't expect much to change, FIOS has been cheaper and faster than comcast by a long shot.
