ASSISTANT DISTRICT ATTORNEY/ SPECIAL ASSISTANT UNITED STATES ATTORNEY

County of Lubbock seeks a candidate who is able to prosecute violations of state and federal gun laws. Must be able to prepare or supervise the preparation of indictments, motions, orders, discovery requests and responses, correspondence, and other legal documents. Must be able to analyze complex factual and legal issues; develop evidence through witness interviews and other discovery. Travel required up to 10%. Annual salary: $47,000 - 62,000 depending on qualifications. This is a grant funded position through 8/31/02. Grant renewal will be requested. Minimum requirements are graduation from an accredited law school, licensed to practice law in Texas, seven years full-time experience as a licensed attorney, criminal trial exp.at the state or federal level (including gun crimes prosecution), excellent research/writing and courtroom/trial advocacy skills, strong oral communication skills.
