Sporty looking vehicle. Will be available in about two years.

Call me when they roll out a 21 window microbus with safari windows!
The good? Looks cool, would be cooler without grey tires.
The bad? The entire thing is now a VW electrical system. |
The concept Microbus had AWD, 369 HP, and a 111 kWh battery pack that is said to be good for close to 300 miles of range. A 150 kW fast-charging system would get it from 0- to 80-percent in 30 minutes. View Quote |

Whenever I see someone driving this on the road, I will assume they are going to the store for tampons.
Make it self driving and I'm there! Camp out in the back while it camps out in the left lane
Gonna be pretty funny to watch guys getting their doors blown off by a VW bus with a flat torque curve.

Electric can't be much worse than those old ~90hp gasoline powered vans. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes |

Love it. Had a 71 Campmobile back in the day. Took it to Alaska and all over the west. If those torque numbers are correct, the new version will be a beast. Kids on tricycles used to pass me going downhill in my old one.

I'll buy it.
When I was a kid my pop used to own one. One my earliest memories is him having to push it down a hill in order to get it started because the electric starter was broken. |

I agree. In fact, it's downright utilitarian. It's the Glock of vehicles. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes |

It won't look anything like that picture when it flops onto the market.

Are you vouching for its reliably, too? View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes |

It pretends to be electric only during the EPA tests, but the rest of the time, a diesel smog-producing pedo bus.

Doubt it ... but hey if people want them then VW should sell them. |

My 2011 VW Jetta can't even stop its head light from burning out every month, and my rear lights from not needing a good old kick every week to reseat it back in to its socket. My power mirrors no longer work, including my rear defrost. How do they expect to build an electric car?
Didn't realize it was going to be electric. Saw it a while back and think it's pretty neat.

Yeah... problem is VW shows some really cool concepts, like this one, a mid-engine turbo diesel roadster that would get amazing fuel economy, yet still be stupid fun to drive: https://www.supercars.net/blog/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/2005_Volkswagen_EcoRacerConcept6.jpg ... and then they never produce 'em. That is kinda cool especially with 369hp AWD. https://www.supercars.net/blog/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/2005_Volkswagen_EcoRacerConcept6.jpg ... and then they never produce 'em. |

No doubt ... I'm a Cummins guy but I would buy one of those in a heartbeat if those specs are correct.

how the hell is that thing going to meet crash safety standards
