So I'm looking to buy a copy of Grand Theft Auto:San Andreas Xbbox.  New is listed as $39.99.  Used is $34.99. Prices are quoted from EB Games.

I think that used is better but my dad thinks to spend the extra $5 to go the new route.

What would the hive mind do?

TIA

Check ebay...35 bucks is a lot for a used disc, unless it is rare and out of print...

I have a $24 and change credit from EB Games...I traded my old games there...I figure I will go there or Gamestop(they are the same people.)  Thanks guys

FieroLoki: I called Game Crazy(owned by Hollywood Video) and they are charging the same.  I figure it's the going rate.

If you can't get it half price, don't bother.

the disc might be scratched or missing info. Half price is all I'd pay, besides, it's been out for a year, should be a lot cheaper new by now.

I'm beginning to think game stores are fucking con-artists...out of 14 games I got 24 bux, and I got 19 before their added bonus because I had so many games.  The least they gave me was a quarter.

I really want this game though so I am willing to pay the cash for it.  If I can find it the cheaper, the better.  I plan on calling several stores and finding out the price.

Oh shit-it's the Alamo Bowl

Edit-Oh shit, Nebraska's getting their ass kicked, 14-7.  2nd quarter, 11 and change minutes left to go.

But if it's that slim a difference, I'd wait longer.  The rare times I buy games for my Xbox, I wait forever until the prices go down.

I'm torn between:

1)Spending the store credit+ some out of pocket cash-and getting it in the extremely near future
or

2)Waiting till after the New Year.

Honestly Dee, it's a $5.00 decision. I make $50k decisions easier than you do over $5.

No biggie, just get a new one.

Gamestores used deals are only deals if nobody really wants the game. If it's in demand at all the used price is typically fairly laughable. (5 bucks off is very common from what I saw the other day)

I just bought Halo 2 for $15.99 at a pawn shop works like it should no scratches or anything.  That said for $5 I would buy new, but as far as my DVDs and Video games go I only buy what I want for a price that is acceptable to me.  Which means usually no more that $15 for a video game and $6 for a DVD

I always buy used games or new older games. Only new game I bought recently is CIV IV. I can wait a few months to save a few bucks.
