Check fuses.

He pulled the fuses one by one to determine that the fuse for the headlights etc. were in order.

Sounds like a BCM problem.(Imagine that on a GM vehicle)
Try disconnecting the battery for about 30 minutes and do the magic BCM dance.Hopefully this will reset it at least until he gets back home.Good luck. |

Probably the Chinese built V-6 POS engine in it.

He ended up taking it to the dealer. I don't know how, but it apparently only had a 3/36K warranty so it will be out of pocket for him. They are thinking the BCM too.  |
