The Catamount Fury is a ChiCom Saiga-12 clone with traditional "hunting stock" with rock-in AK style magazines which are not Saiga compatible.

The Fury II has a SVD style stock with pistol grip with magazine well.

Both should be available soon from Century Arms. No word on price yet, but reports indicate they will be cheaper than Saiga-12s.

Manual can be found here:http://stevespages.com/pdf/century_catamount-fury-semiautomatic-shotgun.pdf

Just to throw gas on the fire.......

Chinese versions of both the Saiga and Vepr are coming in.
Yep either with or without the mag well.

and they plan on running them low enough in price to push the
Russian guns out of the market........

saw them at SHOT and have one coming for testing.

Have a nice day.........

I am just speculating here. Neutered Saiga-12 in "sporting configuration"?

They already sell chinese pump shotguns and a few years back they were selling lever action and pump action Winchester clones.

Semi-Auto....I thought all Chi-Com semis were banned from importation unless they came from another client country as C&R mil-surps like the 50s era Chi-Com SKSs imported from Albania this past year.

maybe Import it with a removable plugged mag well and a plug that makes it a single shot...

remove the plug and add a gas selector and bam around the import ban

Ok so install a disabled gas regulator and make them side charging only where you have to manually operate the charging handle betwene shots. Then swap out with a functional gas regulator.

No, 922R essentially has to do with importing sporterized guns and parts kits and then assembling evil-baby-killing guns here.

It does however mean, if the importer industry catches on, that we will see lots of evil-baby-killing shotguns imported.

(I forgot to say that the appropriation restriction only applies to shotguns)

ETA:  As an aside, individuals can import guns too, you don't have to be a licensed importer (but don't quote me on that)

Import ban was on rifles and pistols, but they can import shotguns

Took a long time for anyone to figure this out.

So Century is importing Chinese mag fed AKs in 12 gauge.
Yes they are.

Two models, one like a Vepr with mag well and straight push mag insertion
One like a Saiga with rock in the mag

They plan on blowing them out cheap to slap the shit out of the Russians and take
the market away from them.......

But they don't take Russian mags...........

Think mine shipped today..............

Considering Hi-Points aren't cheap at the moment, I'll believe it when I see it. They would have to a million on the market at once to get old school Saiga prices. That said, I'm pretty excited to see them become available.

Maybe if they were dropped on the market last year.  If they show up cheap this week or next, they'll sell like hot cakes.  If there aren't a lot of mag options, the market will create one in short order.

I can afford the "real thing", but I don't think they're worth anywhere near what they're priced at.
If these are around $400 I'll buy one to mess with.. I almost bought a Saiga several times when they were about $200, but they are so ugly before pistol grip comverted & typical AK clunky & there weren't any decent capacity mags available for them.

All the other Chinese "AKish knockoffs" have been of decent quality, even exceptional quality considering the very low bar set by the Russians.

Rumor mill price is $700 for Fury, $750 for Fury II.

I'd like to see them much cheaper. Priced like the Saiga-12 was when they were first being imported. Sub $300.

A man can dream. If they are going to blow them out when they first  go on the market I am betting it will be cheaper. They are going to have to do something to get folks to buy a Saiga clone with a propriatry magazine.

Well, that's disappointing.         i guess if they are MSRP $700 with an internet price of $550, it might be reasonable.      They better deliver them quick while the Panic or '13 is still frothy.

Yeah, I thought they had to be sporting.  I had to convert my S12.

Then I had to put a stupid thumbhole stock on it to by NY legal.  Now, with the NY law, nothing I can do short of putting it back to stock will make it legal.
