If anyone has seen the new Art of the Tactical Shotgun videos, have you noticed that Travis and Chris are now using 1911s instead of their previous M&Ps that were in all the Tactical Carbine Videos.
Sorry no link to it! |
I bet those guys own more than one pistol!
ETA: I am much more concerned with what pants they wear.
Their kit varies in almost every class AAR thread I've ever read (on here or @ lightfighter).
ETA what kind of boots was Costa wearing? |
You should watch the carbine videos again if you didn't see any 1911's.
They wanted to make sure they get practice clearing all sorts of malfs.

I'm gonna jump out on a limb here and say one word: "SPONSOR."
They used both in the handgun 2 class at the beginning of the month.
Perhaps the guys who make their living teaching people how to shoot guns own a wide variety of them.
maybe Smith and Wesson make 1911 to?
What aftershave did costa have on? |
Taco Bell, Taco Bell, product placement with Taco Bell!
Everybody sing! |

If I were them I would vary my kit just to fuck with the fanboys.

Who cares? You refer to them as "Gods". The homo factor around here is over the top.
Somebody photoshop Costa's shirtless pic to put a mess of NASCAR sponsors on him.

A smith I know built a 1911 for Costa recently- Costa loves it. The smith hasn't paid him a dime for advertising/product placement etc etc. The guy got the gun as the smith was/is a good one and comes recommended by many, and bought it because it's exactly what he wants. Sometimes these "tacticool" guys buy guns because they're good, they're what the shooter wants, and they work well - not merely because someone is paying them to do so |

You should see when they actually post something here...homoerotic doesn't begin to describe some of the responses. Like "hey will you guys be in my town soon, because we could hang out." It's like "Travis and Chris I just wanna party with you guys man....and maybe take a lock of your hair." Somewhere there is an AR15.com member who combs through their garbage collecting their used bandaids. I think they're cool and they're funny as hell, but there is a limit. |
We can expect to see a massive number of M&Ps in the EE soon, then.

I thought I saw one of them carrying a 1911 in the carbine video.

Shoot what works for you and stop following stupid trends. Everyone has their preferences. If it functions and sends lead into the intended target who cares.
Considering "Art of the Dynamic Handgun" had a guy from S&W as one of the students, I figured that they were being paid to use M&P's.

Next time you guys go to another gunshow or training class not how much crap is on peoples firearms b/c it was seen on TV- either Magpul or any of the other commercial training groups out there. The real answer to most folks having shit on their rifle etc isn't functionality- TACTICOOL.
And yes, I am calling you out to the gay factor that many folks subscribe to when it comes to the Magpul Guys...If you dont believe me, just look at how many hits keep adding up secondary to the subject title. |
