After reading the news article as shown on the AR15.com Firearm News section;
Rise in police shootings prompts MP to warn of US-style 'gun culture' spreading to Britain
http://news.independent.co.uk/uk/politics/story.jsp?story=87241

I have to wonder what types of criminals are in the U.K. where British police expect them to stop at the command "Stop!! Or I'll say Stop again!!" while waving a baton around. Put a British police officer in any large U.S. city unarmed and you'll have one dead British police officer.
I don't think the gangbangers here are going to stop in their tracks when pursued by a police officer and say, "Well bloody hell!! It seems that the old chap has told me to stop. Very good my good man, you have caught me!!"

If you like the one above, try this one!  Gotta love England!

by Philip Nettleton and Justin Davenport

A 17-year-old has been found in possession of a
military assault rifle, one of the most deadly
weapons ever discovered in criminal hands, police
   said today.

The teenager was arrested in connection with the
discovery of a powerful AR-15 rifle. It was
   equipped with state-of-the-art laser projector
targeting and 100 rounds of "full metal jacket"
bullets capable of piercing body armour and cars.

The find follows warnings by Scotland Yard of a
dangerous escalation of gun war in the capital as
rival armed gangs battle for control of rackets
such as drugs, prostitution and fraud.

One detective said today: "This is a highly
destructive and frightening piece of equipment. It
is heavy-duty armoury with bullets capable of
travelling through buildings. It could have caused
real devastation in the wrong hands.

"It has a laser aiming device which can place a red
dot on the forehead of a target from hundreds of
yards away. The only time most people see these
are in Hollywood movies. This is the first time a
weapon of this kind has been recovered in
   London."

Forensic tests are being carried out to find out if it
has been used in any illegal shootings. The
Chinese-made Type CQ rifle, capable of firing up to
950 rounds a minute, is accurate to a distance of
   600 yards.

Terry Gander, editor of Jane's Infantry Weapons,
said: "This rifle will quite easily punch through
body armour, doors and the bodywork of cars."

AR-15s can be brought for around £2,000 on the
black market and there are a number of US-based
   websites offering them for sale.

City of London police recovered the rifle after a
raid at an east London address. It was in the boot
   of a stolen car. A 17-year-old youth and a
61-year-old man were arrested and later
   released on police bail.

Police also revealed that two 9mm Army handguns
stolen from a barracks in Wiltshire, had fallen into
the hands of Yardie gangsters in London. Four
people are due to appear in court this week in
   connection with the theft.

"full metal jacket"?

No, the building-destroying bullets are apparently .... [thinking] "titanium core"!

So I guess according to England, this web site must be full of dangerous criminals who are going to pierce body armour with our laser scoped AR15s. Let's not disappoint them.

BTW the 'Rise in police shootings' article seems to be a thinly veiled smear on anyone who knows guns as a closet cop-killing criminal.  Nice.

Another version of the same story from a different rag.

THE ARMOUR-PIERCING ASSAULT RIFLE FOUND IN A 17-YEAR-OLD'S CAR BOOT

THIS is deadliest gun ever seized on the streets of Britain - and it
was found in a car driven by a teenager.
The Chinese-made AR-15 rifle, capable of firing almost 1,000 rounds
a minute, was found in the boot of a stolen car.
A 17-year-old male was arrested later at a nearby house in east
London.
The gun is capable of firing armour piercing ammunition that can
pierce bulletproof vests worn by police.
Detectives have launched a major investigation to find out how the
pounds 2,000 rifle was smuggled into the country.
The discovery comes as police warn of a dangerous rise in gun crime.

Figures are already showing a 50 per cent rise in the number of gun
incidents compared to previous years.
Among weapons seized recently are rapid fire Uzi and Scorpion
machine guns and a selection of the world's most deadly
semi-automatic pistols.
Meanwhile, a Scotland Yard task force set up to investigate the rise
in US-style street shootings was probing another drive-by murder
yesterday.
Michael Cabey, 28, was sitting on a wall with friends on Sunday
night in Clapton, east London, when a stolen Ford Fiesta drove by.
As it cruised past a gunman armed with an automatic pistol fired at
them.
Cabey was hit by at least three of the six bullets fired.
His death is the 12th this year linked to gangsters' territorial
feuds.

The gun gets a higher rate of fire, is worth more and fires more destructive bullets each time the story is reported.  I'm saving up for the $10,000 gryo stabilized automatic aiming version which fires 2,000 HE rounds in the blink of an eye.

For the record, it's about 700RPM for a scant few seconds until it goes click, firing rounds that aren't lethal enough for hunting in many  regions, using a laser aiming device which is in all probability quite similar to the one taped to my $30 paintball gun.  And they're worth about $800 Canadian NIB.

Chinese made AR-15?!
Since when did they start making AR's! SKS's, AK's, and RPK's....sure, but AR's? Geez. Are they selling them in the US?

Some years back in a small town named Hungerford (sp?) a shooter with a 9 mm pistol and AK-47 killed some 15 people.

One was an unarmed cop, vectored in to intercept the man. The man let him get close, and used a 9 mm round to drop him.

Meanwhile, the authorities got records of all the shotgun owners in the village, and called them and told them to lock up their arms. Must not have anyone hurt resisting, right?

My guess is that the killer was the only sane person left, and decided to put the others out of their misery.

By the way, the killer had an illegal Tommy gun and Mauser pistol at home. Yet a ban on semi-auto firearms followed.
