First time US troops have been shot at in the six months they have been in country.  But oddly it gets shoved to the bottom of the article!

LA Times has a article with the incident as a headline- but they demand you pay money for it...

Reuters captioned this as being a picture of US troops "on patrol":

Do you think they're really patrolling?

1) All bunched up

2) No SAWs or M203s visible

3) No evidence of extra ammo or gear

It looks to me like some non-infantry types on an administrative movement.

Well Reuters finally got on it:

They guys who were shot at, while Marines, may not have been Infantry either. A spokesman said that they were at a "worksite" with some Philippine soldiers when they were fired on.
