So I have four small amazon orders being delivered today (Sunday) I know they will shot-put my packages from 20 feet away because they're angry and working on a Sunday.

Anyways, how profitable is it for them?

Profitable?  I can assure you this; the reason we're 18 trillion dollars in debt isn't because folks that work in the Government are sitting around worrying how to be profitable.

I've read that Amazon pays the USPS $2 per parcel. Don't know how true that is.

I bet they're probably getting DT on Sunday.  Good chance they'll walk it slowly to your door.

Yes, Sunday is the only day the USPS turns a profit.

It's the USPS, they don't turn a profit   Did you just come to the United States?

UPS will probably deliver it.

I don't know about profitability, but the 2 different times we've had packages delivered had 'enjoy your Sunday! USPS' hand written on the package so the carriers must like the overtime anyway.

Only the part time carriers are delivering parcels on Sunday and there's no OT/DT for them. Straight time only.

UPS does not run on Sundays.

It is an agreement between USPS and Amazon.

I got an Amazon delivery today, he put it by the front door and rang the bell.

Sunday is the only day they are profitable. They ONLY deliver amazon packages and amazon foots the bill via contract.

So do they run the normal routes on Sunday, or just go point to point?

No idea, but it isn't my usual mailman that delivers on Sunday, they must have enough Amazon orders to make it work, they have to drive a ways to here for a delivery.

no

it is a cave in to the union lobby....again. It is a waste of tax payer money. I would even cut delivery down to 4 days a week. 4, 10 hours shifts for delivery folks.
