Found a mint, unfired (semi) Beretta AR70 at a pawn shop on Saturday. It came with a big wooden crate with mags, tools, etc. $1500, although I can't find any on Gunbroker to compare it to price-wise.
What are these things worth now? Can you still find them? It just looked/felt oh so beautiful. UPDATE: Went back down there, found out it's actually $1,595 (so about $1600, not $1500). It is even more immaculate than I remembered. Not a blemish on it, looks like it was in a museum. Comes with wooden crate, "book" (really really big manual), sling, and some various tools/etc. Only has the factory 8-round mag. Still worth it? I promised myself I wouldn't blow my Army bonus, but it is so tempting... NEW UPDATENESS: I now know what it is like to be an AR70 owner. |
Buy it now. If you don't want it IM me the name of the gunshop.
What if it only comes with one mag? Now that I think about it, the extra mags may have come with the (also unfired) Daewoo.
valued between $1500-$2400...with $1800 being the average depending on condition and number of mags....
I would get it if you had the funds...then post pics |
Dont listen to these morons.
IM me the place and I will have a good talking with him. BS that you have to buy this thing. |
WHERE?!?!?! I'll race you there! |

According to 28th Edition (current 2007 Edition) of Blue Book of Gun Values.
Finish/Value 100% = $1925 98% = $1675 95% = $1375 90% = $1150 80% = $1025 70% = $850 60% = $750 Last MSRP was $1065 The 1989 Federal Legislation banned the importation of this model into the US. No more coming in, I would not hesitate to buy it! DSA has Very Good conditon AR-70 magazines for $65 ea. or $60 ea. on orders of 5 or more. |
It is a FNC Paratrooper actually. |
The ONLY problem with this fine weapon has been magazine availability. We here in the US got all the AR-70's and the Italians kept all the mags. BUY and BUY NOW !! 5sub |
You know all the pawn shops here sell are junk pistols, hunting rifles and shotguns. I'd like to see an EBR just once.
The joke went right over your head dude, right over. Report to the dept of joke ruiners. |

Your going to have to explain how misidentifying a gun is ever funny! It is high treason! Al Pacino: FN FNC Val Kilmer: Colt Commando M16 Rober Deniro Colt Commando M16 Tom Seizmore: Galil ARM |
The joke is how some people think its an AR70 and others think its a FNC. The joke is calling it the wrong weapon and mentioning Al Pacino and Heat. Fuck you guys are boring.
+1 $1500, is cheap. |
I would buy it for the listed price of 1595, but can you not jew the guy down?
Like I said...where is the place, I'll race you there still Is it in/near the Twin Cities? C'mon, don't hold out... |
How much was the Daewoo? |
Talked him down to $1550 (I know, not much....but it's fifty bucks) and it's mine now, and MAN....is it beautiful. I have not been able to find even the slightest blemish or flaw. I feel like I should wear those white gloves while handling her. I don't think I can even sell it. I never thought I'd ever even get a chance to hold one, let alone OWN one! Pics are in the works, stay tuned! The big question is now....do I shoot it? This temptation is almost worse than buying it was.... BTW, the Daewoo was $1500, with extra mags. Pawn shop owner got these both from the same rich guy, who never used either one. |
Congrats!
What's this about a Daewoo? Kevin "I know about those. " |
From some of the pics Here: world.guns.ru/assault/as11-e.htm I could see where the confusion might come from... The Carbine looks very FNC-ish. |
That sounds high. Sounds like he doesn't know how to research pricing. |
Daewooo?????????????? Where? 1500? Maybe, if it's a K2, but slightly high. |
Guns are for shooting not solely collecting. I collect them because I want to shoot them. That is my opinion. Guys who horde weapons that they never use are just like the rich jackasses that horde expensive classic cars and never drive them. It is your rifle now so do with it what you want. Another option is selling it and then using the funds to buy a less pristine version. But finding an AR70 isn't going to be easy.
Some people do consider firearms investments. Not firing it is going to keep the value up. You need to seriously watch this pawn shop if Richy Rich unloads more EBR goodness. |
continuation of this thread without pictures of the firearm referred to in the OP will result in calls for bananation and possible castration...
post some pics already |
I'd consider your bonus money well spent. You'll enjoy your bonus as long as you own that thing, as opposed to pissing it away on crap you'd forget about in a year.
In a 70/90? Yes. In a 70 like he has? No. |
The last time I had mine in public, two guys came over and wanted to see my "550." |
VERY NICE!!! ETA is that box original with the gun? If so thats a nice touch |
The doctor circumcised your flashider too much!!
JK. Looks awesome! |
Holy Crap! When you said "mint" you weren't kidding. Somebody really babied that sucker. Most new guns direct from the factory have more scuff marks than that. |
That was an AR-18, I think. Although they look a bit alike. |
Sarcasm censor's are sure weak today |

Hey its a awesome rifle but i just looked at some mag prices and there running about 60 to 95 bucks EACH.
That reminds me back during the band when i paid 150 bucks for 2 G17 mags. |
