UPDATE:  thanks to feedback here, I went to see the doc this morning.  I got Bronchitis.  Got my Z-Packs and am resting comfortably at home watching the Arfcom approved movie DREDD on Netflix.  That is all.

******************************************************************************************************************************************************
OP:

Fevers gone after 3 days of being sick but the wheezing and coughing up Lung butter is still going on.   I have some Athsma, which I use inhalers for, this helps open things up some but gagging up shit all the time is only second to vomiting for me.

What are some other remedies out there?  Don't say smoking or drinking as they will definitely make shit worse (I never have smoked but drink when it's my duty of course).

Cough drops, check
Cold/allergy  medicine to dry up/open sinuses, check (preventative at this stage)
Cool mist evaporator, check
Sinus rinsing (netti pot) to rinse Out sinuses, check.   Sinuses are now clear.

What else to do?

You'll either get better with time, or get bronchitis.

Make some hot tea and mix in some honey and lemon juice.  Old cure, but it works.  Good luck!

Did that minus the lemon juice.  Does help some.   My 10- year old son made it for me God bless him.  Chugged a 32-oz Gatorade on the way home from work too, thirsty.

Fever is NOT gone apparently.

Prednisone and albuterol.

Sometimes I take Primatene and that clears shit out.

A hot toddy or 5 never hurt either.

Quite possible now I've looked it up.   Had very bad sweats to chill cycles 2 days ago but that's gotten better.  Just a low fever now with general tiredness, hoarseness, fatigue and lungs of course.

Try a steroid inhaler., they usually don't have those effects.

Exercise in the cold - not so much that you're winded, just enough to open the bronchial passages. Then cough like a hurricane...your lungs want the mucus out.

It hurts. Use vodka.
Link Posted: 12/12/2013 8:06:12 PM EDT
Go for a run, 3-4 miles should clear the lungs.

Cold does just the opposite, closes bronchial passages.  And it's been plenty cold out.

Yea, you might want to get that checked out.

Stay well hydrated and if your fever recurs go to the doc. Coughing isn't necessarily a bad thing. Sometimes the shit takes a while to clear.
(respiratory therapist here)

Edit- just finish reading the rest of the thread. Go in and get yer Z-pack.

Get your butt to a Doctor....your lungs can be permanently damaged.

Yeah, chugging that 32oz Gatorade today like it was a shot glass sorta surprised me actually...

Edit- "Z-pack?". I'll have to look that one up!

Edit 2:  antibiotic, duh...

Steaming hot showers
Mucinex

Eating bread & crackers will help with the nausia.

Yes and yes.  Been taking hot tubs when I had the uncontrollable chills.  Hot showers too.

Lots of bread and crackers with some peanut butter.  Havn't had much appetite.  Lost a few pounds in a few days.   Slight nausea at times.

Call the health food store, ask if they have bronchitis tea. It's a blend of different plants that help with that wheezing. Works like a charm for me!

To clear mucus, get Robitussin DM. This has a cough inhibiter plus mucinex, which creates more mucus. By doing so your coughs are more productive and better-lubricated, so you don't do so much damage by coughing.

Walmart/Walgreens have their own brands for about 2/3 the cost of Robitussin.

Sounds more like a flu than anything. Your asthma just adds a little twist. Doc will probably tell you to stay hydrated and you will cough up your body weight in flem before its over. Nothing a bottle of Nyquil and a day of bed rest won't cure.

It's seems like that's the only thing that helps mine. Those inhalable steroids work well too if you can get one. It only takes a couple time of that to knock it out for me.

Are you having night sweats, like soak the bed sweating?  Have you been out of the country or been in contact with anyone who was out of the country?

What color is your cough butter?
Link Posted: 12/13/2013 2:22:30 AM EDT

+1 on tea with honey.
