Saw these at the BX... Turkish vendor here at Osan AB, Korea for a few weeks selling rugs...
These are acrylic, machine made carpets and they are very well made.
I could buy one or two of these and have them sent home in my household goods shipment.

What does the hive mind have to say about this?

The guy has a website with pictures of the patterns...
www.turkishgoldcarpet.com/mmcarpet.html

In 2001, I got a few Turkish Cresecnt brand wool rugs... I regret not buying more

These are just as nice except they are acrylic almost as soft as the wool..

They are nice. I just say don't over decorate.

We have the same guys here at Al Sahra, although they also have handmade rugs for sale..... verrrry expensive silk ones. I am curious as to the value back home.

Hrd to find accurate pricing information on these...

Some sites have machine made, synthetic fiber rugs from turkey for $1500 some have them for $199 (8X12 size). What gives here?

Yeah, the silk ones are expensive, but they are nice....

To tell if it is real silk or wool, I was told to take a small piece of the fiber and burn it. If the piece melts, it is synthetic. Natural fibers turn to ash...
