I know I'm going to get a lot of wisecracks but simple question: do you see a picture here or a red x?

Link Posted: 6/11/2009 5:50:51 PM EST
Red X.
Link Posted: 6/11/2009 5:50:52 PM EST
Red x....what are you trying to do?
Link Posted: 6/11/2009 5:51:25 PM EST
both?
Link Posted: 6/11/2009 5:51:50 PM EST
I have a bunch of pics hosted on my ISP's provided space. My FTP client shows me they are there. But for some reason I can't link to them or pull them up.
Link Posted: 6/11/2009 5:51:53 PM EST
red X
Link Posted: 6/11/2009 5:52:08 PM EST

Link Posted: 6/11/2009 5:52:28 PM EST

Blue question mark.
Link Posted: 6/11/2009 5:52:45 PM EST
I just see blank space.

Maybe the local storms knocked something out of Insight Broadband tonight. Glad to know it's not a problem on my machine, though.

Thanks, carry on!

Weird.

Again, thanks for playing.

Must be an Insight problem. I'll let it go for now.

URL not found.

With Comcast, after I upload a file, I have to go into their file manager website and mark a file as viewable to the public. Does Insight have something similar?

I see an empty gray box testifying to your failure as a poster and as a man.

Nah, the pic in question actually HAS been posted in our AK forums here. I have no problem posting pics; they're just not working tonight. I can still see them on FTP, copy them to my machine, etc.

I clicked on your link and this popped up...

Is that you?

Link Posted: 6/11/2009 6:00:57 PM EST
Here it is copied FROM my insight space via FTP onto my desktop, then uploaded to tinypic:

So it IS there, just not working right when posted directly from my ISP space.

So weird.

That's a little harsh but true.

Which directory are you uploading the pics into? The webserver usually only has one directory that is publically viewable (/htdocs) and any files you intend to share have to be in that directory. That said, I'm not familiar with Insight, just webservers in general.

Neither

Aha! Whatever the problem was, they fixed it (and it wasn't me)
