The armed hold-up occurred shortly after midnight at a home in the 7700 block of Morley. The men forced their way into the family's home and claimed to be Houston police officers, although they were not wearing uniforms and showed no police-issued identification. "One of the suspects was armed with a pistol, another had a shotgun, and the third had a knife or machete or some type," said HPD spokesman Alvin Wright. The men took jewelry and cash from the house before fleeing, police said. There were no reported injuries. Police said the men wore black sweat shirts and trousers during the robbery. They are in their mid-20s, weigh between 150 to 180 pounds and are all about 5-feet-5 inches tall.
