I tried to post this on one of the Hangfire threads, but when I hit submit it came-up "thread not found". So I'll paste it here as it's own topic.

The lynch mob mentality that has permeated this site in the last day, has made me ashamed to be a member. Hey, who's got the rope?
Some of you must take your lessons from the gun-grabbing democrats and the media.
It's been stated several times that Mcuzi's site came down because of money reasons. But some of you, in your hate and zealotry, feel if you keep accusing Hangfire it will finally stick.
I don't know what Hangfire did or didn't do, but the filth posted by some members since last night has certainly pushed me firmly into his (Hangfire's) camp.

i reserve judgement waiting HF response. Although from the past history he has i don't doubt what has been suggested. Both of these guys are a little unstable. But if he did call the law out of spite then he should go! I'd be vary leary of associating with an individual like that.

You need to relax. Most of the "get a rope" comments were meant in jest; this is an internet board, not the town square.

Also, most, if not all, of the anger centers around HF's claim that he contacted the FBI, NAACP etc., not that he shut down the site.

I'm not waiting on a response from HF, he, HIMSELF, claimed that he had contacted those organizations. What else do you need to hear, that he was just joking? Did not sound like a joke to me.

If Hangfire really believed Porn was being sent over the internet, in his name, he had every right to take action.
Now he's being accused of trying to bring down ar15.com.
His list of supposed crimes keeps growing. Sound familiar? Kind of sounds like the strategy used by people like the Clinton's and Diane Feinstein whenever they want to villify guns and gunowners.

Both of those knuckleheads have brought heat down on themselves. They've both clearly violated the Telecommunications Act of 1996. HANGFIRE did it by threatening McUzi. Title V Subtitle A, Section 502. McUzi did it by posting a homosexual porn picture on his main page, in full view of anyone under 18. Title V Subtitle A, Section 503.

Now I hate to be a dick, but there have been many people who have tried to bring this site down.

Lets take a quick gallop through the past... the gunsnet guys vowed to take us down because they basically got into arguments on here and there was a division in thought. They went their way and come here only when they need attention for shoots and so forth.

We've had guys from other boards try to come in to cause trouble in order to spark interest to their sites. Not going to name them, but some of them have absolutely NOTHING to do with firearms... most of the others have nothing to do with AR15s.

Then we've got the good ole AK47.net which did everything from stealing the artwork on this site on a regular basis to sending trolls here to start trouble. This board was bought by none other than guns.net guys who have yet to show whether it will continue down the same path or not. I'd like to point out that since I am involved, any stealing of use of licensed graphics, design, or content will result in legal actions against anyone. (Not targeting them since it's new management!)

Then we come to MCUZI. He had absolutely NO ATTEMPT to harm this site in the least. He got his site up specifically to use as a place where people could discuss things that other gun forums did not allow. Racial disputes, sexism, pornography, flame wars, etc. If you weren't a fan at least respect the efforts that went into that.

On one final note, there are still people I deal with week in and week out trying to shut this place down for one reason or another. We fight and we keep going and I am sure many other sites see this too as they continue to grow and get recognized. If HF was involved, he sure as hell would not be on the site posting and enjoying himself. He is NOT after us and although I am not sure about his role in the MC stuff, my feeling is that he could not have done it alone.

Getting the NAACP and so forth involved is a big deal, but I have the feeling he is NOT going to come out and admit it at this point, whether he even addresses this thing or not is a question mark. (I think at this point he realizes its a no win situation and he has a big bulls-eye on his back.)

The porn picture is INSIDE the site and not on the main page. (you have to enter through a disclaimer and age validation section first)

Looks like HANGFIRE is again the Villain!

Can HANGFIRE sue because someone found that homo picture of him?

Goatboy, I had no idea about how much of this back-stabbing crap was going on until today.

I'm going to keep my "know-it-all" ass out of this one, I don't belong in the middle of this fight.

I'll reserve my own personal judgement until HANGFIRE responds directly as to his intentions re: the threat of libeling McUzi. Under my interpretation of the Telecom Act, McUzi isn't responsible for anything that someone else posts. I.e, HANGFIRE.

Goatboy, it goes beyond his ever trying to "take this site down". In your reply to me in one of the locked threads you stated you were confident in this site and the fact that there was no wrong doing for HF or anyone else to harm it. I agree. However, it also involves the members. He may not be able to screw with the site but he could damn sure make one of more of the members lives miserable by taking info to some anti group or the ATF because he gets pissed over something they say about him. We all know that ATF does not play by the rules and do not concern themselves with trivial matters like evidence. Someone drops a dime on you and they may be all over you whether you have done something wrong or not. We've seen this in the past.
fighting among ourselves is one thing. But bringing in the enemy is another matter entirely.
The question is do you and the members want someone here that has demonstrated that they will stoop to that level in order to get even with someone that pisses them off? I know I don't and based on the number of post on this matter it would appear that a lot of the members share that opinion.

but alas it was deleted. In short this is my position:
Mcuzi stole my given name, my address, my e-mail, my telephone number and coupled them with my alias then attached the forgoing with porno/racism.
I protested and was subjected to unsolicited
porno spam and the misuse of my Ar15.com account. I told mcuzi and company if they did not stop I would contact people to stop them.
They did not and I did. I made telephone calls
to the FBI the NAACP and BLACKMANWITHAGUN.COM.
I made those calls to inform those entities that
I had never logged on to mcuzi.com. That the
"drawing of Jesus receiving fellatio from a child" was not my doing, neither was any of the
subject matter on that site. I further explained to them that I had contacted the "owners" of the site and they would not put a stop to the unauthorized use of my real identity nor would they stop the porno spam.

I've been one of the more vocal members on this issue. Not because of the McUzi site or my love for it but rather the "rules" of engaging one of our own in these little Internet wars were violated by HANGFIRE when he brought in out siders.
I would like to think that this is something that I would never do.

However, given what HANGFIRE is claiming (and we have as much reason to believe him as we do McUzi) it would appear that McUzi broke the "rules" first and went well over the line with him. Under those conditions I can certainly see why HANGFIRE felt the way he did. Does it condone calling in out siders? That is a quetion that only each individual can answer for themselves. But as far as I'm concerned I can't really say as I blame him under the circumstances and will get off of his ass.

HANGFIRE, don't lead this to believe that I want to take long, hot showers with you. I still don't like your ass.[:D]

BTW, I saw one of your post in an unrelated thread and started to respond but instead took the time to look through the old threads about this until I stumbled on to this one. You might want to ask Goatboy if he has any objections to your posting this in a seperate topic so everyone sees it. The big bitch that a lot of people had was the fact that you were not responding to the allegations. I'm afraid with it buried here most members will not see it and still hate you more than you deserve. Not that you do not deserve to be hated but maybe not this much.

I first got on this board about the time that
McUzi left. One of the first things that I
noticed was that Hangfire did have a way of
stirring things up. on the other hand, where's
the crime in that? I see it as a case of free speech, love it or leave it. Frankly, I think that a larger crime was committed when several of us were willing to draw conclusions and crucify the man before he explained himself. I'm not pointing any fingers at any one, just presenting the facts. Just my take on things.

It's against the law to threaten criminal prosecution (or the outside influence thereof) in order to achieve a civil gain. It's a felony and a federal court would have jurisdiction due to the internet connection.

It is just bullshit. Real lawyers do not ask who to send a cause of action to, they file in the court and pay the Sheriff to deliver the subpenna. If the guy they represent has all the
dough maybe they can get him to buy them a spell

Sarge, I don't think anyone is keeping score but if you want to look at the numbers, look at the vast support numbers on the McUzi side vs the single digit on the Hangfire side.
