Okay, I have installed some 2.8'' Proline Badlands onto my otherwise stock Slash.

I was going to change out a pinion gear last night, but ended up just taking the pinion off, and then putting it back in again with no other adjustment.

Today, mid-way through the run, some strange noises and about half the power.

I take apart the cover and check out the pinion - the other gear looks warped and lo and behold I have this:

Question: I only have 1 of 3 of those pads in there. What part(s) are those? Did my oversized tires do this, or did taking the pinion off and putting it back on do this? Otherwise, no adjustment made to the pinion.

Now that it's apart, should I replace this with an upgraded / stronger part? Or just replace the stock version?

If I did something incorrectly/wrong - what was it?

Thanks!
