Cool! The big kitty and the deer are frollicking through the forrest on their way to get a drink from a babbling brook. They'll play tag after that with some of their other forrest friends and then they'll all pile up together in a hollow log and take a nap. How could anyone try to catch them with huge guns and telescopic sights?

I think that would sum up just about any response.

Fangs and claws just don't do it for me. I squeal like a pig when my housecat bites down on me when we're playing. Imagine the one in the pic nipping at you.

I bet the flash from the camera spooked the hell out of both kitty and bambi,
prolly even ruined kitty's dinner plans too..

and Nice Pic btw.

correct answer, let the cat kill the deer then kill the cat.

I think the dinner plan is a go, he's just too damn close and is only seeing deer at this point. You could shoot a gun and he probably wouldn't even here it.

That's so cruel.
That poor deer, you should have made noise to scare the mean ol couger away.
Link Posted: 8/27/2004 3:51:46 PM EST
There's only a head shot for the deer.
Take the cat but you hafta decide coat or rug? For a rug shoot vitals, for a coat take the head.
That is one awesome pic.

I'm gonna be the first to say:
Photoshop?

Point 1: notice how that stick is visible through the cat (the one just in front of his hind leg)
Point 2: why would a big cat bother sneaking up that close? They can leap a long way through the air, I don't think they're going to be sneaking along right behind a deer, waiting to be heard. Then again, maybe he has a frying pan in his right paw, just waiting for the right moment..CLONK!

Dam that is a good pic.I have 2 trail cams in the swamp at the hunting camp. One of my favorite pic is of a coon and feral hog facing off. I have pics of deer, feral pigs, bobcats every thing but coyote. I need to set up some hanging meat about 4 foot off the ground and see what I can get. I need to build one more game cam to lend out to some of the other club members. That way I can also see what is hanging around in their area. Making those cams and seeing the pics is a lot of fun.
Link Posted: 8/27/2004 4:12:02 PM EST
maybe the flash spooked both critters and they took off in different directions

Isn't the buck supposed to be chasing the pussy?

Nice pic. Hope I don't run across a cat that big when I go out in two weeks. I may have to stuff that F*cker.

The cat wants to make sure it gets a good jump on that deer,if not a good kick might diable the cat or knock out a few o his canines!! Great pic!!!

Big cats do not trail their prey like a bloodhound. They will do a short stalk, followed by a charge. Or they will lie in waite.
+1 for Photoshop.

I am willing to bet $1000 that its not photoshoped.
And it doesnt look as the cat is just strolling. Its getting ready to attack something, look at its head and how its walking also its tail.

Or the deer could just be a decoy too. I'm not sure a cat could get THAT close without being noticed AND just happen to be walking by a trailcam at the same time.

<----positive that that's a photoshopped pic.

<---wouldn't shoot either of them. Deer isn't big enough, cat is assumed to be in its native habitat, doing what it's supposed to.

Would love to get that on video, though.
