Yes.

Depending on how many turns there are on your gravel road and how competent the driver is.

Probably neither. It won't hut it unless you do donuts. The PSI from the tracks is less than from your car so it won't compact it either.

What kind of tracks?

That makes a bit of difference

How big it this tracked vehicle?

Just drag a few weighted old boxsprings behind it.

As in, dozer or excavator. Steel or rubber.

^ I've seen a dozer eat up asphalt. If it's big enough, it can fuck shit up.

Driving up and down in relatively straight lines will do little to nothing to it.  Making sharp turns will churn it up, how much depends on how aggressive the tracks grousers are and how sharp/frequent the turns are.

This and this.

I run a 70k# excavator up and down my paved roadway regularly.  If it's relatively cool out with minimal sharp
turns there is no problem.

I run the same 70k# excavator over new house lots to compact the driveways and yards.

In true arfcom spirit:  Get both.

A few scuff marks that'll be gone after a few cars drive over them.

it will destroy it if you pivot steer.. but not much as its gravel... nothing a rake wont fix... black top is what you can easily destroy with steel tracks. my buddies blacktop driveway is totally fucked up, from a concrete truck driving down it...

a member did some dozer work at a womans house, and was careful to avoid her new asphault driveway..... later that night the woman calls cussing him out for fucking her driveway up....... member goes back to house and discovers the womans boyfriend ( not member) had decided he wanted to move the bulldozer to the other side of the driveway on his own, and fucked the driveway up pretty nice while crossing it..

the weight is likely not a problem actually... as a tracked vehicle, spreads its weight out and puts less pressure down than a heavy truck would.  IMHO a concrete truck, would fuck your yard and driveway up a hell of a lot worse than a m1abrams.

I read this as a Armored vehicle. I immediately thought, m-113 or Bradley or M-1

Steel or Rubber

If your worried throw tires under it as it goes. It's just the grousers digging in that do the damage. Keep them off of it and it won't cause any marks.

Destroy a gravel road/driveway? After a few turns I wouldn't say destroyed.  But there's a solution:

Link Posted: 4/24/2016 1:25:45 PM EDT
Good opinions. Large bull dozer to get to an area to clear and level for a parking pad. Don't know much about heavy machinery. The I am planning on using is a professional.

Dozer tracks will leave marks and possibly dig it up.

But gravel is fixable.

Excavators with Street pads won't.

That's what I'm used to running!

As others have said, if they need to make sharp turns it will tear it up, but being gravel it's repairable. It's not gonna leave ditches at all. For the straight runs it will be no big deal.

Cheers!
