Here is the best chance for the Republicans to take over the agenda in the Senate again. Strings are being pulled in the background to keep or regain Senate control. News at the "crying baby" icon at:

I really think that Torricelli will have to be dragged kicking and screaming from the senate. He`s like Clinton in his arrogance and lust for power. The prosecutor will have to quick and forceful to get rid of him.

That would be great. I'm tired of hearing Tom "I'm a socialist but won't admit it" Daschle yap, and since he's majority leader, he really yaps now.

yeah, remember when the mean, nasty repubs controlled both houses, the dems were crying about power sharing, haven't heard any mention of it since Jeffords defected.

Then either Chafee or McCain will jump ship.  Republican control of the Senate doesn't look good for the short term.  The long game is this will flush out RINO's (Republican In Name Only) and get real conservatives in their places.  Maybe enough conservative voters will be motivated to change the usual off-year election outcome.

Arock,
I agree completely.  Time to flush the pretenders and let the voters decide whether they really wanted someone representing them or someone who goes with their newfound political ideals.  The honorable thing to do would be to finish out the term and then run for reelection on your new party's ticket, but politics is an ego trip, plain and simple.  In McCain's case, it is ego run amock so I say farewell, John (and take Lott & Specter with you).
Kissel out.

Personally I think they should do away with the party system altogether and make everyone run on their own agenda and credentials.
