here is my contribution:

1. contamination of public water supplies in at least three major cities, (with the obligatory broadcast by the networks,) terror level goes up, immediately followed by an attack on the power grid.  (now your T
v is out, you can't track the attack) No power= no fuel pumps = get your horse and buggy/bicycle.

While the power is out across much of the USA, potential targets could be reactors, refineries, etc.  I think when food/resources are short, the race card gets played further complicating the problem.  your thoughts?

2. All major and minor breweries are destroyed, hence no booze. Panic ensues, world is destroyed.
