Took my newborn Model1Sales/MEGA AR-15 (A-2 FH, collapsable stock, A-3 rail w/Eotech, BUIS) to the 100 yd outdoor range in Ft. Lauderdale, FL today. Despite all the function checks and manuals I've read about assembling/loading/shooting my new AR, I was nervous as hell.

Pulled back the charging handle, applied bolt catch, lever to SAFE, slipped in a mag (EVIL 30 rounder, naturally), released the bolt catch, tapped the forward assist, lever to FIRE. sight target, DEEP breath and......BOOOM!

OMG!! Addicted with just one round. What an awesome weapon! Now I know what all you AR-old timers are talking about. It's better than Viagra, man. The next few hours were spent by my son and I exercizing our 2nd ammendment rights - emptying 5, 30-round mags and grinning like fools. Next time out, we'll zero it in.

Thanks to everyone on the board who tok the time to answer my noob questions. With your help and advice, I was able to assemble the MEGA lower, select an upper to buy, and accessorize my AR. Popped my .223 cherry today and LOVED every minute of it. thanks again.

Here's the Evil Black Rifle on the table at the range.

Yours truly with my 'Tactical Black Boonie'

My son, Stephen (discovered today he was 'left eye dominant') w/ lefty-grip.

1st magazine grouping at 25yds. No sight adjustment. Sorry for blurry pic.

very nice!
several hours to empty 5 -30 round mags? now that your cherry is broke you'll be going through 30 , 30round mags in an hour.

better start stocking up on lots of ammo, the ar is the small end of the shooting sport/fun. the ammo is whats going to cost you!
looked like fun, welcom to the sport.

oh and you southern boys sure like your long hair.

good shooting. I'm jealous..........haven't gotten my AR converted yet. Waiting for some money. Sounds like you had some fun though. Happy for you.

I like the Mega lowers. I think they've got the collest logo's of anybody.

That's great man

It's pretty cool too to think that the last "pre-Ban" I bought for myself back in the early '90's (An NIB Oly' '177 clone) ran me $550 out the door and YOU probably didn't have alot more in your gun over a decade later.

Yeah, I agree. I was gonna fill the logo in with a white crayon like I did with the 'SAFE' and 'FIRE' markings, but I thought it was just too big - too many places to screw up. SO, I just left it alone - for now.

Markham Park. I just fired up the Eotech for grins on the last few rounds. You're gonna laugh, but I was having such a good time just firing my 1st AR15, that I forgot I had the eotech. I know that's hard to believe, but just try to recall YOUR first AR shoot....and maybe you'll understand.

I'll have an Eotech report in a few weeks.

Don't forget to drop that bolt on a full mag with the palm of your hand.

and tuck that arm that holds the pistol grip IN
