I will clean it before I cook in it. Also it did not smell as I thought it would. Also the cosmo did not splatter, but oozed out of the wood.

No smell in the house at all, I was surprised to say the least.

You can do the same thing with a $20 1500W space heater and a 6" diameter venting duct.

That's how I did a couple Turkish Mausers.  If you live in Texas, you can simply put them in the attic during the summer.  Gets plenty hot enough to sweat out the cosmoline.

Waiting for the finish to dry, hopefuly I will have it all assembled later today.

I went with a satin urethane, the stock has nice mellow orange/brown hue to it, very nice. The grain is not as nice as the SKS I sold Roadhawk. But it will make a nice looking rifle.
