Are there no history buffs here? Doesn't anyone remember the civil war, and the emergence of the "yellow dog democrat"? Once upon a dreary time.....Republicans and Democrats had pretty much opposite views from what they do now........hence the proud Southerner's proclamation......."I'd rather vote for the lowest yellow dog Democrat than a Republican". Even though it makes no sense today.....it remains a stubborn tradition with some folks.
