My problem with limewire is that it runs SLOW as hell (downloads are still fast) and eats up all of my CPU resource. Nobody else seems to have the problem I have had this on two different computers of mine with completely different hardware. WTF mate?

I find limewire to run rather slow on both of my G5 macs and friends pc's. Never had trouble connecting though.

You know you can download limewire pro from limewire...

Limewire = Adware installed on your computer

Your antivirus could be blocking it from connecting.

Details?

I dumped BearShare and picked up LimeWire for just that reason.

I scan for adware paranoidly, and have never found any in LimeWire.  (But I could be wrong!)

Anyway...

Are you running a firewall?  You might need to tell your firewall to let LimeWire get a connection out.

As long as it can get a connection out it should be able to have a conversation and start sharing.

"LimeWire automatically installs LimeShop, which monitors your on-line purchases and redirects sales commissions belonging to other referring sites to LimeWire. Uninstalling LimeWire does not automatically remove LimeShop."

"LimeWire may also install BonziBuddy and other advertising and monitoring programs. You should run a spyware removal tool such as Ad-aware to remove any adware and spyware installed by LimeWire."

which version are you running?

i had limepro 4.10.9 which took about a minute or 2 to get fully connected, got lime pro 4.12.6 off of LW and it takes under a minute to get rolling.

try an uninstall/reinstall or try the d/l from limewire again?
