I hate you.  That is all.  Yeah, yeah.  0/10.  Real question...wife didn't notice the damage until she got home.  Any issues with insurance if we didn't see/report it right away?  Do we need some type of police report for documentation?

Contact your local PD and file a report.  They may have an online filing system.

Check if there are any cameras in the area that may have caught it.  Even an image from an ATM may help.

Yep.... Suggest filing the report.   Some insurance companies won't touch it until you do.  BTDT.

No issues if you didn't report it right away. They will just ask you where(location) the damage occurred. You may file a police report.

State Farm didn't require anything from me.

I left a note under the wiper saying I was sorry.

Same here...  State Farm paid without a police report, and it was not reported until a couple days later.

Before filing a police report, correlate the damage to your wife's story.

With my insurance, it's actually advantageous to have not seen who hit me.

Deductible is lower. Crazy, I know.

Wow....are you me?

This happened to us last week, wife's new car that we've had about a month.  Wife didn't notice either....I did within 5 seconds of pulling into the driveway.  We have esurance, and they've been great so far (just recently switched to them).  Security camera did not catch it on film so we're out the $500 deductable .  They told us no police report was necessary, unless we happened to catch them on camera, then we could open a hit and run.  Without evidence and a license plate, the PD said it'd go nowhere, obviously.  YMMV

People these days...can't even fess up when you damage someone's property.  With the amount of damage we received, there'd be no way you could "miss it".

We apparently have 2 deductables.  One at $250, and one at $500.  For a hit and run of a parked car we are being charged the $500 deductable...not sure what the requirements are for either but I'm going to call tomorrow if $250 is on the line.

OP, do you have reason to believe the culprit is an Arfcommer?

Nope, not at all.  All arfcommers are upstanding citizens and would have at the minimum left a note.  As for wife pics...I will ask her permission.
