Happy B-Day to ya all.. And hoping you get something cool other than a combined Xmas and b-day present (god I hated that)..

My b-day is on the 6th, so I never had to deal with a birthmas present.

My step dads is on the 25th, sucks to be him, lol.

Thanks!  Yeah, being born on the 19th I heard many times, this will be your birthday and Christmas present.  Maybe that is why I am kind of a Grinch now.

Mine was on the 9th.

Other than some well wishes, all I got was a cake from my niece.  Not even a card from the wife or kids.

Try having one on the 27th, never a party and most b-day presents were wrapped in Christmas paper

My oldest son loves combo b-day/christmas gifts because it means he usually gets something really good(i.e. expensive). 2 years ago it was an AR, last year a F-150, this year a bolt action with scope.

31st for me. I always got separate presents from my family and relatives. When I was younger, my birthday presents would come in the same boxes our Christmas presents came in.

My son's was the 14th. He is sick as a dog with some kind of chest cold,
and refuses to acknowledge his b-day till he is better.

They were going to have a party for him at school, now he refuses to turn 4 until he goes back to school.
God, I love my funny little man.

ETA: when he was born, our nurse was a Dec. baby and read us the riot act about combo presents.
We will never do it.

31st here as well. I was due on the 25th, but came a little late (Dad threatened to squeeze me out because he wanted his deduction so bad, LOL).

An uncle of mine was born on the 25th, and he gave my folks the "riot act" as well, so I never got cheated, though I've voluntarily done the combined gift thing a few times to my advantage.

It's not about being a jerk.  It's about being practical.

I don't tell people when my birthday is because they most assuredly don't care.  If someone that knows wishes me a happy birthday, I'll accept it with a smile.  But when people ask questions like "What did you get for your birthday?" or "What are you doing for your birthday?"  The answer is always:

The same thing I do every day.  I work, I go home, I work some more, I get less sleep than I'd like, and then I do it again the next day.  For my birthday, the world got me more work.

Don't like it?  It's the truth.  There are 8 billion people on this planet and at any given time, there will be about 20-something million celebrating a birthday.  It's 850,000 in the US alone.  Do you really think anyone gives a shit about "your" birthday?  No, they don't.

You got born in December.  Suck it up and deal with it.  You've never gotten a good birthday present and you never will.  If your friends and family even remember, they won't care.  If you want cake or a beer, you have to buy it yourself.  If you want a nice meal, you'll have to cook it yourself or else go to a restaurant and pay for it yourself.  If you're married and you want sex, you're gonna have to do that yourself, too.  That's just the way it is.  *shrug*

I am right there with you. I had a rant going as long as yours, but I erased it. I just don't give a damn because every damn year since I was four I haven't gotten a damn thing on my birthday unless a neighbor or a buddy got me something.
