There is nothing wrong with WOLF. Before, the WOLF-Bashers used the lacquer and red-sealant to blame for any problems with WOLF. Now that they've gone to a polymer case with a different coating, people like to scream that it's underpowered, dirty, inaccurate crap.

WOLF isn't meant to be a tack-driving hyper-clean ammo. It does what it was designed to do: provide an inexpensive yet reliable shooting experience to the user.

You shooting it in an AR??

I have noticed that some brands of AR are picky about the ammo that they will reliably feed. My Bushmaster doesn't seem to give a darn what you feed it, but I have seen other brands (Armalite, Colt) that wouldn't feed certain types of ammo.

5.56 the jams were FTF. In three different AR's. I bought a case after theredhorseman got on my ass.

Have you had the chance to try the new brass cased Wolf ammo?

You really owe it to yourself to try their new reloadable brass stuff.  I shot a batch of it in 30-'06 and .303 and it was great.  Clean and accurate and cheap too. ( $6.99 on sale for 20 at Dunhams's )

You ought to try some of the new brass stuff. There isn't a whole lot of it out there...yet....but I imagine you will get better results.

From the prices I have seen advertised, it should still be a decent deal.

Yugo SKS, only 800+ rounds, No problems, lots of fun. Cleans up easy. No lacquer build up. Accurate enough to kill white tail at 117 yards - one shot.

No Problems here.

I've got about 1200 through my AK and SKS, without a single jam, probably about 1000 through my Bushy, only jams I've expirenced was because of the orlite mag I used, and that I droped the mag in the dirt and tried to keep using it without cleaning it, just to see if it would work.

With approximately 1000 rounds of the new polymer-clad steel-cased 55g FMJ through my frankenrifle, I can't report any problems.

Accuracy can't be determined as I have bad eyes and no optics on the rifle.  Reliability has been 100%.

If the price is right, I'll not hesitate to use Wolf for training.  The only thing I do believe in is that I should stockpile brass-cased milspec ammo for social situations.  With the consequences so severe, I believe only the best ammo should be used for defensive purposes.  In training, any malfs only add to your training.

And, finally, if you're rifle won't reliably feed and extract Wolf, you might want to look into having your weapon opened up a bit.  Just my thoughts.  I could be wrong.

I'm running thier .308 and it works just fine.  Average of about 3 MOA from my FAL or another way 13 of 16 shots in 3" inside the 9 ring.  There WILL be fliers though so you can't be certain of getting that accuracy just more likely than not.

ETA: It's running 2600fps from my 19" barrel.  Not to shabby.

I guess I only have one complaint wiht wolf.

I broke two extractor pins on an AR using it.  I figured it was probably mostly to do with an out of spec bolt, but I think that plus the steel case had something to do with it.

Still shoot the Shit out of it though

"SILVER looking"?

Say what?  There is no "silver looking cased wolf".  Are you talking about Silver Bear?  Nickel plated steel cased Russian ammo?  That is not "Wolf".

Wolf has a grayish polymer coating on the steel case.

By "FTF" do you mean "Failure to Fire" or "Failure to Feed"?  Since Wolf has softer primers than M193 or M855, I can't imagine FTFire unless your hammar sping is installed backwards (BTDTGTS).  FTFeed is a magazine issue.

Nope, it's Wolf. Black box, silver/gray looking cases, Failure to Feed (USGI Mags work with all other brands of ammo I have tried).

A finicky AR is not a dependable AR.

There may come a time when what ever ammo you can find is the only ammo you have.  If you have a Gucci AR that only runs on Perrier ammo, you may be SOL.

My ARs eat it like candy.  I've had a few malfunctions from bad primers, but only 2-3 from several cases.  It's all going into a big ass pile of dirt at 50 yards, so I have no desire to spend more money on ammunition than I have to.
