My GSD/Lab mix is blowing his coat.
Brushing him and vacuuming doesn’t even help as my efforts are moot within hours. 
I swear there is enough fur to make another dog, probably even two. 
So how long does the coat blowing season last? |

only about 6 months with labs - and those six month periods are only twice a year. nothing to worry about. HA!

The shedding has significantly increased the past week, thought there have been no changes in his diet or anything. I was told he is having the spring coat blowing. |

With horses, shedding can be influenced by the amount of light they are exposed to.
I don't know if dogs are the same, maybe buy him a set of sunglasses. Get a good comb that removes the loose under coat. Save the sheddings for your soon to have second dog.

We had a GSD before we had a Lab.
The GSD was 10 times worse than the Lab. We could build another dog with the hair from our Shepherd.. Our GSD would not stop until about the end of May. |

Every female GSD I have had would blow her coat before coming into Season.

Sounds normal to me. Some days I can pull clumps of hair off my white GSD bigger than cotton balls.
