God now grants you three choices.  Before you are thousands of doors with dates and wars labeled on them.  You may go into three of those doors and participate on either side and in any capacity you normally would qualify for (non-executive, etc) and for any amount of time during that conflict, and you are guaranteed to come back alive and un scarred to the present day at the end your desired length of service.

What three wars/conflicts would you chose to go back and be a part of?

Please keep on topic and leave the debates for another thread.

Man, that's tough. I would probably have to say, in this order:

1.  American Revolution
2.  The Alamo
3.  WWII

Thermopylae (as a Spartan)

World War II, as a curio guy, I would be in Heaven! (Good pun considering the scenario)

I would try to get assigned to battlefield cleanup in the ETO.

Why would I choose to fight in a war that has already been decided?  My contribution would be for nothing.

#1 Texas War for Independence, on the Texan side, mainly because I want to see the battle of the Alamo firsthand, mostly because im Texan, but I would also like to know the truth as to what really happened instead of  all the myth and guesses we have now.

#2 World War II American side of course, The Rhineland campaign to be specific, my Grandpa served there, would be neat to go back and follow him and see it all firsthand because he talked about it very little

#3 The Revolutionary War. Just because I want to see it.

1. 9-11 American Airlines Flight 11 with a MP5.

2. 9-11 United Airlines Flight 175 with a MP5.

3. 9-11 American Airlines Flight 77 with a MP5.

And if I'm allowed a 4th...United Airlines Flight 93.

Those are the shitbags I'd most enjoy killing.

Can't ask for much better than that.

Do we get to bring equipment of our choosing?????

+1 Thermopylae with an M60, those boys fought hard enough to desirve to go home, with me there they would

I would like to be at Pizarros capture of the Incan King Atahualpa in Peru. Pizarro had 168 men who killed the 40,000 people (most if not all of them were unarmed) that escorted Atahualpa to the meeting. (Morbid I know but an amazing feet none the less)

Somalia, with the 2 snipers, but I would have Jessie Ventura's minigun rig from Predator

I also vote that StyerAUG be allowed his 4th mission.

Battle of Lexington and Concord.
As far as weaponry goes, I'd pack a Mauser 98k and a good wheel gun.
Might not be uber-l33t, but I'd be far and away ahead of everyone else, and I'd prefer a simpler firearm for those days.
I'd stick around for the rest of the war, and for the drafting of the Consitution.

Would also like to be in the FBI during Waco and Ruby Ridge.
See what really went down.

Only being a licensed private pilot, I'm taking extensive liberties here.

But this one is easy and I don't need three choices:

P-51 pilot over Europe in WWII

I don't like the guarantee of coming back alive, though. What fun is that?

Gonna need the pucker factor to keep things interesting.

Woops.  Sorry, I should have mentioned you'd be in the same uniforms and given the same weapons as your comrades.  So no, you cant take an M60 to the Alamo.

Me?  I'd do the Vietnam thing as a Air Cav infantryman (rifleman w/M16A1), the Zulu War of 1879 as a 91st Highlander (rifleman w/ .455 Martini-Henry!!!), and WWII as a British "Tommy" with the No.4 Enfield).

WWII in the Pacific.
WWIII  (i suspect against China)
American Revolution with a modern weapon would be fun.  Sniping men wearing bright red off horseback would be fun.  With weapons of their day 200 yds qualifies as sniping.

WWII as a German.  I would loot and pillage and send all of the proceeds to Swiss Banks and I would now be a multi-billionaire, attending the Bilderberg conferences and would be the head of the Council for Foreign Relations (CFR)
