Usually he is calm and asks some smart questions, but he is acting like a complete ass. He is hammering Chertoff about "why" FEMA wasn't ready and it took so long to move 10's of thousands of people. Blaming FEMA, and not focusing at all on the people that SHOULD have done their job in the first place. He even hammered Chertoff about an article, "he" thinks Chertoff should have known about, even though Chertoff wasn't even in his position. Kind of like, "hey, when you were a kid, here's an article about this and you are saying you didn't know about it?"

He's starting to race bait, just all of the other liberal media.

In the short run, it will impact negatively for the Republicans in the 2006 elections.

Regardless of fault, this will go down in history as a stain on GWB's presidency.

For the 2008 elections, I don't see how this couldn't do anything but help Rudy Guliani.

Frankly, with the short memory of the voting public, I don't see that this will have any effect whatsoever in 2008 and only minimal impact in 06.  You need to remember that 06 is elections for senators and congressmen, and individual states aren't going to blame their senator or congressman for FEMA's perceived inaction.

What I would like to know, is where were all of the black leaders? Oprah? Where was she with her 500 million dollars? Why didn't she hire a bunch of buses to go evacute people? Where were all of the celebrates with all of their money to help out with paying for this? They like to talk a big game, but don't do very much. Dion gave a million, but how much does she make a year? I bet a million to her is a drop in the bucket.

They've been beating numerous drums since 2000 and all it has done is lose them one election after another.

I agree on Tim Rustbut  As to the liberal mind set. You have a city below sea level surrounded by a large lake, the gulf and north America's largest river. The weather reports show a storm that fills the Gulf with 165 mph winds headed for them. GWB has to tell the Governer to evacuate. Twenty-five percent of the people that can evacuate choose not to and get stranded and it is GWBs fault. Then to top it off the structures THAT ARE OFFICAL SHELTERS HAVE NO PROVISIONS and its GWBs fault. The buffering wetlands were developed by changing zoning laws and it is GWBs fault.
I say round up the City, State and Parrish office holders and drop them in the middle of the city then hand them buckets and tell them to bail it out or grow gills.

Actually, I applaud the celebrities that are giving money.  $1M is a big donation.  Even when you consider their net worth, $1M is a lot of money.  Percentage-wise it is still a lot more than most of us are liable to give.  I don't especially appreciate all the race-baiting, etc.  You would think blacks who have made it like Oprah and others would despise those who refuse to better themselves and continue to leach off the rest of us.
