Ralph Nader Not On Wisconsin Ballot

Sep 28, 2004 1:14 pm US/Pacific
MADISON, Wis. (AP) A Dane County judge ruled independent candidate Ralph Nader be left off the Wisconsin ballot.

Circuit Judge Michael Nowakowski stayed a portion of his decison until tomorrow to give Nader supporters time to file an appeal.

An attorney representing Nader backers say they plan to file their appeal with the state Supreme court later today.

Keeping Nader off the ballot is a victory for state Democrats. They filed a lawsuit claiming Nader's nomination papers didn't comply with state law.

or it could backfire with an heightened amount of nader write-in votes.

What bullshit - there's gong to be every other never-gonna-win-an-election party on the ballot - but NOooooo - the New Party of Hate just has to take legal action against poor Ralph.

This is a sad day for Democracy (and Democrats) in this state.

I don't think third parties will play much of a role this time around.  I'm a libertarian and i'm voting for Bush.  This one is waaay to important.

I've lived here nearly all my life.  I remember back when Bush ran against Gore there were a lot of Gore signs in yards and stickers on cars, but almost no Bush signs or stickers.

When I drive around now I almost see MORE Bush stickers and signs than Kerry stickers and signs and this is in the Madison area . In other words, this speaks very bad for Kerry. I also see WAY more Bush signs out in the country than any Kerry signs. I wasn't too sure earlier this year about Bush taking WI, but I'm feeling pretty confident now. We just have to keep our fingers crossed and hope all the Packer fans at "Lambert" field realize what a buffoon Kerry is!
