Why not look at the Smart Cars those are just as much a death trap as this, and it looks to have a rear plate holder.

It does appear to have turn signals and whatnot, too.  Looks like a fun little squirt.

The "R" version is about 300 HP.

Last I read it was not street legal here but you could buy them for a dedicated track car.

I'd rather spend $240,000 on a Porsche rather than a V8 mounted on a frame.  Or buy the KTM "R" and a Porsche...

The Atom v8 is really cool, but just not a quarter million dollar frame and V8 engine cool.  I think the Atom V8 goes from 0 to 60 mph in like 2.9 seconds.  Holy shit that is fast though.

How about all of that for under $20k? Buy any liter sport bike and it will match that acceleration and then some. Check out the numerous comparisons, Ducati 1198 vs Ferrari 458, Ducati vs. Lamborghini, the sport bike usually wins in straight line acceleration and handling on a road course. The top speed is one area where a car wins, although some say it is aerodynamics. I feel it is more of a power output issue. The MotoGP bikes are 800cc with well over 200 hp, and they weigh less than street bikes. In the straights, on a GP course, the MotoGP premiere bikes will hit 320+ km/h or 200+ mph. The closest we have to that with a production bike is a BMW S1000RR.

Yes, in an extreme example: Formula 1 cars have much more grip than MotoGP bikes. That's understood.

But a Ducati 1198 would be very competitive against a Ferrari 458 on a road course and in a straight line, and the 1198 isn't as fast compared to the other liter bikes that are available. There's much less grip from the bike, but it has a very good weight to power ratio that gives it an advantage. Plus, you can use the $230k savings towards something else.

In a less formal test, the Ariel Atom V8 was able to edge out the BMW S1000RR at the Dunsfold Aerodome (Top Gear) test track mainly because of its grip. But like I mentioned before, the bike is far less expensive and the adrenaline rush should still feel very good.

Don't get me wrong I love the low end TQ on the Duc's and all that jazz and am a bike rider myself.  W/ that said sometimes I just don't want to push balls to the walls on two wheels or worry about low siding into a curb and get run over by a semi truck or highsiding down an interstate and end up 200 yards out in a corn field to die lol.

Yeah yeah I know, take it to the track, but even not hot rodding around like Rossi can get you dead super quick w/ today's clueless cagers.

Don't they have entry level open wheel indy car things?  Like Toyota formula Atlantic or something?
Wouldn't something like that be a way cooler track car?

I'd rather have a Deman Lotus 7 custom built by me to fit me.  (6'2")

There is, or was at least, an entry level open wheel series that you'd pay something like $3,000 for a race weekend.  I'm not sure what all that included beyond the hardware (tech support, etc.).  My friend did it for a while until he crashed hard enough that it became too costly to continue, as is often the case with racing.
