With 60% of the public still not in favor of Barrycare what happens between now and the election, the pressure we put on the new congress will decide the fate of the Republic. All is not lost, but we're definitely down for the count.

I've faced worst and had worse decisions come from SCOTUS.

We will survive the long run, IMO

Even if you put Romney in the White House and get a majority of Republicans in both the House and Senate I don't see this going anywhere. It can be spun any number of ways why it's good for you and neither party would voluntarily give up that much power over the populace.

Which strangely enough should make GD happy since the Supreme Court didn't want to been seen as activist judges legislating from the bench.

Against all enemies foreign and domestic.

The public is fickle.

A goodish portion of the 60% opposition is because of the widely reported viewpoint the law would not survive.   Americans like to be on the winning side.

Now that its survived court scrutiny, it will be 60:40 in the other direction soon.

Fuck.

Same excuse the illegals are using as to why they have the right to come here instead of staying and destroying the machine.

People had to be bribed to get it out of committee.

People had to be bribed to get votes.

It was sold on a deficit neutral lie, even with the mandate intact.

Pretty much business as usual for our republic.

Don't be a quitter.

Obamacare isn't the only battle to fight and even at that, this particular battle isn't over.

Right now we've got the government we voted for.  What will we do this November when we've actually got the chance to elect a new government?

A significant portion of so called "patriots" will sit on their asses while complaining about everything on ARFCOM instead of voting because their guy didn't get the nomination.

No, not just paulbots, lots of others too.

I think I know what the OP is eluding to and I'm sorry but it ain't gonna happen. As long as we have american idol and sister wives on TV nobody is going to do shit except complain. We're fucked, well and truly fucked.

Obama/Soros just made another temporary Socialism inroad into our Freedom/Capitalism heritage. This traitorous/obnoxious movement will come to an abrupt end this November/January. Individual RKBA Freedoms will then prevail again in our sovereign government. Take it to the bank !

Considering that only half the nation pays taxes right now, I imagine were going to get fucked .

That half will continue to vote for free shit paid for by working people.

Im a pessimist who always votes but I figure its all over. Taxing me for existence is just the beginning.

In a few years you will be taxed for not working out, eating a twinkie or Big Mac.

Time is on the statists side.

Greece just proved that the nannystate approach to government doesn't work. So what do we do? We slide down the same path.

If the power of the government to tax is absolute, it's power is absolute.  There will be a fine that is called a tax for every behaviour that Big Brother disagrees with.  Too fat? Fat tax.  Lazy? Lazy tax.  Speak out against the government? 1st Amendment tax.  As for the 2nd Amendment?  Well you figure it out.

(unless you're an obese layabout) Fat tax.  Lazy? (refer to previous note)  Lazy tax.  Speak out against the government? (except if you're speaking out against conservatives) 1st Amendment tax.  As for the 2nd Amendment?  (Except for Barry's well funded civilian security force) Well you figure it out.

If you asked a liberal, they would probably tell you that this is exactly what just happened today.
I have no doubt that they think they infiltrated government and have usurped power....their leader has set them free.

There are alot of States who simply will not participate in Obamacare if their cost analyses say it is too expensive.

Many States will opt out............Michigan likely being one of those States.

That will hurt this commie entitlement plan.

We'll have to wait until November..........there are so many parasites in our country, I don't have much confidence, but i hope I am wrong.

Plus there have been so many exemptions allowed by the Administration for their big union supporters, etc., that this entire plan is dishonest at its core.

Remember Congress has exempted itself from this plan.

Yet, almost 50 percent of the electorate still supports this abysmal plan.

Like I said, I do not have much confidence but I hope I am wrong.

I almost think I'd take the end of the Republic - that way we can re-start as separate countries - conservative and progressive.  I'll take the Constitution - they can have Rules for Radicals.  The left doesn't work without a host.  I'm tired of being the host.
