Autistic high school basketball manager, get to play in a game

Reminds me when I was in JROTC of a kid named Derek.

He was 2 grades higher than me (senior when I was a sophomore) and was an asshole. However, the guy had a lot of mental and some physical deficiencies, slurred speech, not too bright etc.

It wasn't until I was a senior that I realized how much of an asshole I was for not realizing the amazing effort this guy was putting forth towards a program and working so hard to make life better for himself.

Funny how we all grow up sometime I guess huh?

Brought a tear to my eye. I guess I'm just of softy.

Saw that on the news. Bet that coach is slapping himself for not palying him more. He was sinking those 3-pointers.

First time in forever that I've seen something I like on CBS.

missed the first two way wide, then sunk the next 6 3 pointers! crazy.

I have never paid $$ to watch a professional sports of any kind but I would have gladly paid a pro game ticket price to see that.

very very cool

I saw that story earlier in the week and was touched by it. Amazing!

Great video, but I'm confused - 6x3=18. They keep saying he got 20 points. He sank another that wasn't a 3-pointer?

And 20 points in 4 minutes? He should be playing, not managing!

Wow, you could not write a script like that... Awesome!

Said that foot was on the line for one of the shots (hence 2-ptr)

Great Story .

20 pointers in 4 minutes? I wonder if anyone else on the team's done that this season?

The coach should be shitcanned for not playing him before now.

Damn, 8, 10, 13, 21, and 31 sll covered it. ESPN, ESPN2, TNT, Morning show, CBS, NBC, FOX, CNN news, Sports breakfast, D&C...... They all covered it.

On a side note, it's rumored that Disney has approached the family with a movie deal.

Look out Rudy here comes J-Mac.
