We have celebreties here like the greenhorn from Deadliest Catch, others are rumored, a recue worker for the Utah miners, somebody is always here with first hand reports of major news events, etc.  Pretty cool.  I wonder if any politicians frequent here?

My memory is for crap, but when the names were mentioned, i recognized many of them.

I've come close to saying "Fuck it" with this place on at least 4 or 5 occasions (usually involving overzealous mods doing stupid shit) but I always manage to calm down and come back.  Mainly because this site is my primary "window on the world".  Waaaaay too many knowledgeable people and diverse backgrounds to throw away.

I've come close to walking away 2 times this year but I keep coming back.  It wasn't for the mods, but because of other things I have issues with.  I just stay away from those things and now all is good.  This site has a LOT to offer...

Not really.  

I used to participate and lurk many "gun boards" but they all changed for the worse.  Don't even go to them anymore.  This is "home" for me.  I participate only over at ADVrider and lurk the tech and news/blog sites.  That's it.

I can truly say that I have learned more on this site than any other to which I traveled in the last three years.  My friends first asked me for advice, because my newfound knowledge was intriguing to them.  But then they went one step further, once they were infected with  BRD, and now they are members.  So, now they get to check up on my "facts," when they ask me a question!.

Moreover, the EE is like a gun show every night in my livingroom....woohoo

There are well known gun writers here that I know of as well as one of the turbo twins.  

I came here for news as much of the time there are folks nearby big events.  We had first hand reports of Katrina and other major events as well.  Sometimes there are guests here that have intimate knowledge of the  events that affect us, like luckyman who was close to the branch Davidian survivors.

I love this place.  There is no place on the net quite like it.  The knowledge here is staggering.  I rarely visit any other corners of the interweb anymore.
