I go to buy me some boots, I look at the 5.11 ones but I didnt get them since I saw made in China.  I liked them but Im holding off now not sure if I'll get them,

Also looked at a knife today, passed it up for the same reason.

I did have to buy a mixer today, got one from Walmart, was the only one that fit what my grandmother wantede, light and made by Sunbeam.  Its sitting on the counter, but Im saving the reciept.

Union Labor?

When you buy made in China, means a lot of the money goes to the Chinese State, the importer and the vendor. Hardly any at all goes to the worker who made the stuff.

Well Id like to stay under $200, needs to be able to hold up.  I got my Danner Ft Lewis with insulation and steeltoe for about $150 off ebay back in 2002 have worn everyday since.  If Im gonna spend that kind if money they need to last for a few years.

Save your recepit. I have been through 4 can operners, Sun Beam , Hamiltion Beach, black and decker etc. NONE of them lasted 6 months. All came from China. I'm fed up, went and got me a hand cranked can opener.

Last year around Xmas Danner had a 20% off + free shipping coupon.  Most (not all) Danners are made in the US.  Maybe they are running the same deal this year?  I bought a pair of Blackhawk 2 boots (made in the US) when they ran that deal -- only cost me around $160-180 shipped (so I recall).

I have 5 pairs of Danners, all US-made.  Highly recommended.
