Forget the bike, especially if you've never ridden before. I'll spare you the details of my accident, but lets just say you'd rather get a fast car than a death bike.

Bikes are fun and I have ridden somewhere around 100,000 miles with only a fractured toe, but as an only vehicle, I'd get a truck. That way you can haul guns and ammo, besides it's a lot more fun parking with some honey on a backroad with a truck than a bike.
I don't know what your budget situation is, but full size trucks are expensive on gas money. I have had them because I have need the extra bed space and engine, but for an everyday driver I would get a compact truck like a Ranger. |

it'll set you back a little over 40 grand though. There is just something cool about a 300horsepower 4-cylinder. |

You really need to post what you are looking to use it for.
I have loved the motorcycles I'v owned in my life but as a daily driver they suck bigtime. The weather becomes your enemy. Stop and go traffic in the heat kicks your butt not to mention rain and cold. Stopping by to pick up a 12 pack of beer suddenly becomes a chore for they don't haul shit. I hate the idea of not having a truck for a car limits how much you can haul so much. On the other hand, I hate the idea of having to commute in a truck even a small one for they suck the gas so bad and you are typically limited on how many people you can haul. Define in your head the best you can what you need in transportation and weigh it against what is available and you can afford. Hope this helps a little. |

what is your budget? How much do youu have left over for expenses such as gas, modifications, repairs, tires, insurance etc. Dont blow all your $$ on a car without a steady stream of income because you will wind up selling it or something thats pretty valuable to you in order to stay afloat.

Good move. I was going to suggest that if you DID get a bike, start out with a $1000 crapper. That way WHEN (not if) you lay it down, you won't cry as hard.
I've had two friends who never rode refuse to heed this advice. Both of them went and bought $7000 worth of Japanese horsepower and promptly laid their bikes down within a week of buying them. |

Save the bike for when you are older/"more mature" and fear dying! Young guys on bikes typically love to show off and it gets them dead.
