The Local Dunhams keeps running a sale for a Remington 870 combo. (slug barrel and ventilated rib barrel). The only thing that really bugs me about Remington shotguns is my thumb keeps getting jammed on that tongue thing that sits in front of the tubelar magazine. Is there any way to fix that problem. I find it hard to rload fast. This is the reason I have used Mossberg and Benelli shotguns. Six

No way around it. Just stick to Benelli.

I think i paid around $330 for my Rem 870 with 20" IC barrel and 28" Vent rib. The rifled slug barrel and 26" vent rib barrel package will be extra. I have that same problem of cutting my fingers up while reloading, I'm probably just going to use a file and dremel to get rid of the sharp edges around the magazine tube. Kharn

Here's a board for shotgun info: http://www.thefiringline.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?forumid=2 To find the proper name of the part try the Remington site: http://www.remington.com/firearms/shotguns/SHOTGUNS.HTM Would it be the carrier you are referring to?
