they seem totally normal and don't make you nervous at all.

For me I think the worst was when I bought a new MC from a dealer in Phoenix and had to ride it home on the freeway.  I had grown up riding dirt bikes and had ridden some on street bikes where I live but had never been out on the freeway or in a big city.  Gawd Damn!  I don't think I would have been more uncomfortable or felt more exposed if I had been naked on that ride!

The second worst was when I started carrying concealed.  I felt like a had a neon sign above my head that kept flashing..."He's got a gun!  He's got a gun!"  Now I realize that most people have no clue, hell, there could be a sign and most still wouldn't notice!

Your experience mirrors mine exactly.

The second experience sort of mirrors mine.  AIWB a G19....

Same as the two in OP.
Witching to find and dig up "mystery" septic tanks.
Pulling water well pumps, still nervous setting up and using the rig since I never had a chance to have someone guide me through it.
Doing the initial test drive after extensive auto repairs (transmission rebuilds, engine rebuilds).

Same here and jumping out of airplanes with a T-10C parachute strapped to your back. Learning a few months later that the rigger company at Ft. Bragg had the highest percentage of Soldiers getting busted for illegal drugs.

Surgery...

I had Lasik last year - had an EGD a few months back - and had my Mandibular Tori removed last week.

I still never get used to it - that stuff makes me a nervous wreck.

Carrying on a plane (had to travel on official duty for work).  Had a 300+ lb woman sitting next to me in a 3 row.  She was in the middle and I was on the outside - I would of had to lift her gut-flaps to draw if anything had gone down.  Luckily, she didn't have enough blood flow to her skin flaps to realize she was draped across my P2000.

OP your motorcycle experience freaked you out?  Your experience will make you like this story:

I was looking for a bike that was a little better on road than my XR600R. I'd only had it for 3 months.  I hadn't had a bike since I was a kid.  I'm 43.

my coworker told me how much he loved his KLR650, so I started looking for one just to see what they are like.

two weeks later I find one, but it's in Vegas,  but it's in GREAT shape, and it's a good price. I'm in Salt Lake.

within 30 minutes of seeing it, I had a ticket on the plane, less than 8 hours after seeing it I was on the plane,  and less than 12 hours after seeing it I was on the bike in Vegas.

sight unseen,  with a guy I'd never met, flew to vegas with a bag full of winter clothes (it's Feb, which in Utah, is ass cold) and a glock.

I have never even seen a KLR650 with my own eyes before.  Never got on one, and only talked to 1 person who'd owned one lol.

rode it about 8 hours back home on the freeway,  sketchy as hell, but one of the literally most fun things I've ever done in my life.

Other things that were crazy at first but now ok: driving on the left side in traffic.  freaky as hell at first

This.

Also the first time I held the throttle wide open on motorcycle on the banking at Daytona speedway. That was pretty crazy. I was actually stuttering when I came off the track.  I'm used to it now and have done it many times since but not in 7 years so I am sure it will scare me again

Never been skydiving but repelling doesn't bother me.

Swimming in 1000' of water is pretty freaky when you look down and can't see the bottom and you look up and it looks like the boat is floating in the air.

Firing a gun.

I'd never done it before.  My father knew nothing about guns, and bought a CZ100 in 40S&W, which is about the worst gun possible to learn to shoot on.  Heavy caliber for a newbie, ported for more noise, short barrel, and a trigger pull that compares favorably to dragging a piano down a gravel road with only your index finger.  After 3 shots I said "No more."

Then I went out and bought an AK and a Beretta 92, and I've been hooked ever since.  And I've shot WAY bigger calibers too.
