Cell phone cases come in lots of shapes and sizes, but one currently on the market has law enforcement officials up in arms.
The cell phone case shaped like a handgun has prompted officials from the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office to issue a special warning on its Facebook page. "If you look at it closely, it's a fully formed trigger guard and the butt of a weapon," said Al Della Fave, spokesman for the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office. "And that's usually what an officer is going to focus on – the finger on the trigger." Della Fave said the case could lead to tragic consequences even in something as routine as a motor vehicle stop. "Please folks - this cell phone case is not a cool product or a good idea," Della Fave wrote on his office's Facebook page on Monday. "A police officer's job is hard enough, without having to make a split second decision in the dark of night when someone decides without thinking to pull this out while stopped for a motor vehicle violation. Lolz. You know what would be better? A Gun, with a cell phone built into the grip.

Up in arms? Not really. Just chuckling at the usual numbnuts that do stupid, ignorant shit. SSDD.

If you pull that out during a traffic stop, you deserve whatever happens to you.

I had an idea for a case cops wouldn't like. Attaches to phone in a way that blocks the USB port and would require breaking the phone to remove.

Someone is a genius for making money off of future Darwin Awards winners...

Brilliant idea! I'm going to start buying these by the case and distributing them in low-income DC neighborhoods, then film the results to post on Whirrrllllssttaaaaarrrr!
|
|
I use a t-shirt over my phone & then try to hand it to random cops like they have a phone-call. I am writing this during my stay in intensive care...

Meh, promote it.
Let it cleanse the idiots from the gene pool |
|
How bout that! Depts will be ordering these and issuing them by the case load!
Lots cheaper and easier to carry than throw down guns. |
|
Hilarious!
Although I'm surprised they don't have to follow the toy gun orange muzzle law. |

Saw the posted memo on these.
Looks like something an idiot would buy. |

These need go be sold for cheap in corner food mart/gas stations plastered with EBT signs, Pawn shops, and given away in payday loan and gold buying stores.

"Sorry we shot you because of your realistic looking firearm phone case. Have a nice day"
The Police. If someone gets shot reaching for one of these the police should be able to fine them for the ammo. What an incredibly stupid product to bring to market |
|
How long until some urban yoof that was just turning his live around get ventilated and we have more riots?
|
|
Freedom, how does it work?
Or the correlate to that is, We need to make our overlords comfortable, at the expense of what we desire for ourselves. |

What an incredibly stupid product to bring to market View Quote Coming from the Illinois I guess what you say makes sense. But in Arizona it's completely legal to own a gun, and completely legal to carry it around with you. It's even (gasp!) legal to hold one in your hand in public as long as you aren't threatening anyone with it. So tell me again why a cop would shoot me while I'm holding onto a phone case that looks like a gun when even doing so with a real gun is completely legal? |

Trying to recording a police action with that phone case would be a diamond level Darwin award winner.

I have enough plastic Glocks. If they start making those cases in Sig, Colt, S&W or HK style, well maybe I'll buy one.
