This is why I only go to the theater on off days weeks after the movie came out.

I swear to God once they finally fully commit to that concept of releasing movies to digital streaming services the same day as the theaters, I'm done with theaters forever.

Otherwise I agree. I try to go on week nights and never anywhere too "urban". Cuts down dramatically on the bullshit IMO. I remember the mistake we made once of going to see "Signs" on the opening night of "Barber Shop" at a theater in the Saint Louis area. Bought our tickets and never made it past the lobby.

The area I am in isn't urban, but there is a definite trend in who can't seem to shut the fuck up during the film

I took my daughter to see a kids movie when she was three. During the commercials we had a chat about how she had to be quiet once the movie started because it's rude to talk. So the lights drop and the previews begin and the large black man down our row is still talking.

So she stands up on her theatre seat and shushes him at the top of her little lungs.

Funny part was dude was so shocked he shut up. Quite a few movie-goers got a good laugh out of that, we were right up front.

I go to a Cinemark theater, they don't fuck around there. They say right before the film starts to turn your phone off and don't talk. Last time I was there a few kids were fucking with their phones with the screens at full brightness. About 30 seconds later they were escorted out. My kind of theater.
