is the shotgun.

Yes, I am jonesing for another shotgun. Remington 1187 Police, 20" barrel.

Would anyone recommend this one?
Link Posted: 10/18/2004 4:08:10 PM EDT
A fine choice, IMHO.
Link Posted: 10/18/2004 4:08:25 PM EDT
I would say the most devastating firearm would be an unloaded one. Those seem to be the cause of most self inflicted wounds (death).

I think bogz is talking about NDs, you know when you think the guns unloaded
Link Posted: 10/18/2004 4:20:34 PM EDT
The most devastating firearm is the one that is close at hand, loaded and that you are fairly proficient with.

A 12ga is certainly a fine weapon, but by no-means the be-all end-all of offensive or defensive weapons.
Link Posted: 10/18/2004 4:20:52 PM EDT
Yeah, but I know how it is to jones for a gun - even a shotty. Even if I dont' need it.

I have never seen a topic breed such pure unadulterated ignorance as the shotgun....

It gets proven EVERYTIME theres a thread about it.

But...
But...

The pumping sound alone can scare a criminal to DEATH!

I can't count the number of times I have heard that used as a selling point, all across the country!

ok........Which weapon should I grab if:

Someone is on your property at night, uninvited

Someone has rang your doorbell and you don't know them

Someone is trying to enter your home

Someone has entered your home

And you live in a single family dwelling in town??
Link Posted: 10/18/2004 4:32:29 PM EDT
Well,I know that it must be devastating cause after WWII the germans tried to get it banned from war in the Geneva Convention.

I love a nice shotgun, and have owned many. The one I really would like is the Super Shorty from Surbu. Has low capacity, but in such a great CQB set up....stricktly for home or vehicle defense.
